Designers Muse – Moritz Waldemeyer, LASVIT (Milan Special)

During Milan Design Week, Design Insider saw the opportunity to catch up with Czech bespoke glass company Lasvit to hear about some of their latest collaborations they were presenting at Milan.

The Lasvit stand was majestically minimal with it’s slightly translucent fabric wrapping around and through the space giving each design its worthy stage for visitors to awe at.

We managed to create a series of video exploring a range of their latest collaborations, starting with a contemporary take on the classic chandelier with their range Facet in which they collaborated with renowned designer and engineer Moritz Waldemeyer.

About Facet:

Moritz took the geometrical shape of the Classic chandelier outline and turned it into a diamond-like hexagonal glass unit. On its own with just a single pendant, or in combination of multiple items into a large chandelier, the FACET components stand out as clear, disciplined and geometric.

About the Designer:

Moritz Waldemeyer is an internationally renowned designer based in London. His work occupies a diverse range of creative spaces, from art and product design to fashion and entertainment.

Studio Moritz Waldemeyer is renowned for its forward thinking and playful experimentation, forging links between technology, art, fashion and design. Waldemeyer’s interest in light and its implementation also results in bespoke light-studded costumes for Will.I.AM, Rihanna, Take That and the 2012 London Olympics handover Ceremony performers.
