Shaw Contract will celebrate 50 years of design Innovation at CDW

The world’s largest carpet manufacturer, Shaw Contract, is having a face-lift at its London home Hub 33 at 33 Great Sutton Street, EC1. This inspired Shaw Contract’s theme #evolving spaces at Clerkenwell Design Festival 2017. Visitors to the showroom can explore elements of place and space in our constantly changing urban landscape, through a series of specially curated displays, workshops, presentations and talks.

Under the theme #evolvingspaces, at CDW2017 Shaw Contract will look at how both external and internal spaces are being reclaimed, re-purposed and re-used. Visitors to Hub 33 will be able to experience and hear about unplanned and planned interventions, in and around our buildings and cityscapes.ShawContract_Active_edited resizeThroughout the Festival, Shaw Contract will host a first look at the designs for the London Boulevard project, planned to run through Clerkenwell. This will include a virtual reality visualisation and is being launched at CDW2017 by the London Cycling Campaign and Witteveen+Bos UK.EMEA Marketing Director, Andrew Jackson, says:

Clerkenwell Design Week is an opportunity to challenge people and get them thinking about what design means to others. At Shaw Contract design is part of our DNA and we’re delighted to be hosting such a varied programme and some really thought-provoking presentations at our showroom during the 2017 Festival.”

New product ranges

Shaw Contract will also be previewing new carpet tile ranges A Walk in the Garden and Active at Hub 33 during the 2017 Festival. Evolving spaces links to the design concepts behind these new ranges, which in turn have the ability to transform commercial interior spaces:

  • renewed and revisited, Shaw Contract is re-introducing its design collaboration with Cradle to Cradle visionary William McDonough, bringing to the market A Walk in the Garden in a new tile size and fresh new colour palette.
  • Active offers an opportunity to activate your interior space. It provides a flooring choice that interjects bold energy and graphic motion into the workspace through clever use of texture and colour.
