Surface Design with Material Lab

aterial Lab is a central London based material resource studio.  Design Insider asked Material Lab if they would be open to selecting innovative and inspiring surface products to be displayed at BCFA Open Spring Design and our visitors were delighted to have the opportunity to discover such exciting and thought provoking materials.

In this film watch Jim Biddulph explain the innovation that each designer has brought to their surface design.  We would love to know what you think of these materials, tweet us @DesignInsider1

Material Lab was created in 2006 by BCFA member Johnson Tiles, who listened and responded to what the architect and design community wanted: a place where inspiration and creativity go hand in hand, where you can immerse yourself in surface coverings of every kind no matter what it’s made from.

Supported by some of the biggest global surfacing brands, Material Lab’s partners include Dulux Trade, Formica Group, Karndean Designflooring, modulyss, Tektura, Vado and Flowcrete. If it’s latest trends, tips, or just tempting ideas, immerse yourself in experimenting at Material Lab.

Last week Material Lab unveiled their brand new website, which you can find here.  There are also exciting happenings at the Material Lab HQ, which will be closing for a complete refit from 31 May until 1 August, (they will be taking calls, answer emails and process any orders during this time) and we can’t wait to explore their new space!
