Harrison to launch new Bed Tailor range

Award-winning bed manufacturer, Harrison, is innovating comfort with the launch of its new Bed Tailor collection, using its revolutionary spring technology and natural materials to tailor the perfect sleeping environment. Split into the Natural and Luxury collection, the new range will be on display at the NBF Bed Show in September, giving the trade a first look at the collection.

With six mattresses in the Natural collection and four in the Luxury, all beds use Harrison’s patented Revolution® springs to reach spring counts up to 29,800. The Revolution® spring is a unique spring within a spring system, which delivers varying levels of firmness, supporting both lighter and heavier parts of the body most effectively. The springs create a pressure-relieving surface, reducing the amount of aches or pains which may occur during sleeping.

In line with the company’s consistent commitment to innovation, the core Revolution® springs are assisted with layers of new improved High Density pocket springs, a world-leading design using Titanium Alloy which makes them 40% lighter than the original HD spring. The lightweight pocket springs mean more can be added without the mattress becoming heavier, and offers up to 2500 micro springs in each layer. Because of the flexibility of the HD springs, they perfectly respond to the contours of the body, relieving pressure and providing greater comfort and lumbar support.

As well as the Titanium Alloy HD springs, both the Luxury and Natural collection feature layers of HD Airflow springs, specially designed to help the mattress breathe. As the sleeper moves position during the night, cool air is directed into the mattress through the perforated pockets encasing the springs, acting as a bellow and promoting air circulation through the natural fillings.

Alongside the company’s innovative ethos, Harrison also promotes sustainable and eco-friendly products, and use luxurious natural fillings such as mohair, cashmere and horsehair, in its mattresses. Harrison also grows flax and hemp, as well as rearing sheep for natural blends all from its 300-acre farm in North Yorkshire, located just 20 miles away from its Leeds-based factory. These natural fillings replace manmade polyesters, which help to reduce Harrison’s impact on the environment. As well as having an environmental benefit, the use of natural fillings offer unique properties unlike any other. Hemp for example, is mould and mildew resistant and wool is inherently fire retardant; this ensures that all beds are more environmentally friendly as no chemicals are used.

Steve Broughman, Sales Director of Harrison, said: “As the original sleep tailors, Harrison continues to lead the way, creating new, revolutionary beds, all of which can be made bespoke from our Leeds-based factory.

“The new range adds to our already impressive collection of quality high-end beds, all offering customers the best possible night’s sleep; and with complementing fillings such as cashmere and mohair, we have created the pinnacle of luxury.”

Harrison has recently rebranded to incorporate its tailored and premium approach to beds, whilst creating a fresh and modern look. As part of this, Harrison has developed a new, interactive POS system which will help to tell its unique story to consumers and be a useful sales aid for retailers.

The Bed Tailor collection can be bespoke made to any specification, including height, size and comfort, with the option of 72 different upholstery fabrics, 16 headboards and 11 storage units. All Harrison beds are available in three comfort options; gently supportive, medium support and firm support, offering customers the right support from the Revolution spring, whatever their comfort preference.

Harrison is part of Harrison Spinks, one of Great Britain’s most established and innovative bed manufacturers. As one of the world’s most vertically integrated and sustainable bed makers, the company has been recognised for its commitment to leading the industry with two Queen’s awards for Enterprise in Innovation and Sustainable Development.
