Research inspired seating design from Ferco Seating

A study from the Department of Education found that students are more engaged in learning are ones that have higher levels of social well being. With that in mind Ferco Seating have developed their new collection, ‘The Collaborative Wave’.

With it’s curved desk the Collaborative Wave seating system features a large writing area and 5 individual seats that rotate and are fully movable, to help create smaller collaborative spaces if needed.  The seats offer fantastic ergonomic support and flexible adjustment options. Collaborative wave front view Computers web

“We have worked hard to understand the challenges of a modern educational environment. We are offering an innovative solution that allows a space to work both as traditional lecture-led environment and a space where students can work in smaller groups.” – Michael Burnett, MD at Ferco Seating

Ferco have a forged strong links with some of the UK’s leading universities and colleges and continue to develop products that provide the foundations for innovative teaching and learning. The Wave offers a flexible solution enabling large ‘single-use’ spaces to be transformed in to versatile ‘multiple-use’ spaces, offering the best use of campus resources.

Learning spaces continue to adapt to the way products are being designed for this sector. What key things do you think about when designing a space for the education sector?
