Karl, What space from around the world has inspired you recently?

Set on the famous walk of fame, Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, The Hollywood Roosevelt.

The hotel is a rather large, not that architectural striking and not very inspirational from the exterior, that is until you walk into the grand entrance and inner hallways. Once within you can quickly understand why it’s one of the best boutique hotels in LA offering luxury accommodation which is a huge favourite of the Hollywood elite past and present.hollywood-roosevelt-cabana-poolside, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

A fan of the big screen, it captures my imagination. Anything within the film world is possible, and in LA anything is possible. The interiors of the hotel reflect this with pure theatrical sophistication with no loss of integrity to historical heritage that’s why I feel that the Hollywood Roosevelt is a true inspiration.

The buildings interiors and architecture style incorporates all of the glamour and drama of the late 1920/30s. To be or not to be, well that is the question after all. This period saw the rise of what we know as Hollywood today the golden age of the film, cinema, the big screen glamour and everything that comes with it.hollywood-roosevelt-lobby, demxx, Flickr

The early days saw the very best of actors and actresses stay at the hotel, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin were just a couple of famous icons.

In 1988 David Hockney completed a multimillion dollar mural on the bottom of the Tropicana pool, Its recent £25million dollar renovation, and original Hollywood glamour seen from every angle, is why the hotel has been designated as a historic cultured monument by the city.hollywood-roosevelt-tropicana-pool, hollywood roosevelt
