A New Era for Queensway: The Whiteley Celebrates the Opening of Seven New Retailers

The Whiteley has reached a major milestone in its monumental eight-year journey, with seven retail brands officially opening their doors to the public. From acclaimed dining concepts to world-class fitness and cultural experiences, these launches mark a defining moment for Queensway as it undergoes an impressive £3 billion regeneration.

The Whiteley has welcomed Third Space, Everyman, Nela, 3812 Gallery, Duck & Dry, Adventures in Furniture and Guillam Coffee House. The £1.5 billion restoration of London’s first department store has been spearheaded by development manager Valouran and joint investment partners MARK and C C Land.

Each of the newly opened brands is positioned across the building’s ground and lower-ground floors, with frontages on Queensway, Redan Place and Porchester Gardens. Paying reverence to The Whiteley’s origins as a pioneering department store and pillar of the local community, these openings pave the way for the site to once again welcome local use.

With a total of 19 brands planned for the 1.1 million sq. ft site, this significant milestone is set to be followed by several further openings throughout 2026. The new brands include the Mayfair-based café LALÏ, indoor golf destination 14 Clubs, premium pharmacy Whiteley Health, Japanese mochi bar Yuum, the South Kensington-based salon Oblique Beauty, and luxury food store Willy’s. The commercial offering at The Whiteley is now 89% let, with additional retailers set to be announced soon.

Third Space

London’s leading luxury health and fitness club, Third Space, has unveiled its 14th club at The Whiteley, transforming three floors into state-of-the-art training and wellness facilities. Members enjoy access to elite cardio areas, functional training rigs, dedicated stretch and recovery zones, and five studios offering high-performance fitness classes such as Reformer Pilates, Lift and Just Ride, alongside a refined Members Lounge.

The extensive Wet Spa, opening in March, features an 18-metre swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, Finnish sauna, steam room and ice bath. Third Space’s newest West London location enhances The Whiteley’s wellness offering and cements its status as a destination for holistic living.

Everyman

Everyman at The Whiteley marks the brand’s new flagship destination – its 49th venue and largest London site. Spanning three floors with five screening rooms and 332 iconic velvet sofas and armchairs, the cinema combines heritage architecture with Everyman’s modern, comforting style. Equipped with state-of-the-art 4K projection and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as two stylish bars, the space has been designed for customers to enjoy high-quality screenings in a welcoming, hospitality-led setting.

True to the brand’s signature, the in-seat food and drink service – featuring hand-stretched pizzas, burgers, small plates and craft cocktails – creates a truly special cinema experience.

Nela

Nela, the celebrated Amsterdam restaurant founded by internationally renowned chefs Hari Shetty and Ori Geller, alongside British entrepreneur Gilad Hayeem, has chosen The Whiteley for its first UK opening. Occupying a prominent corner unit with frontages on Queensway and Redan Place, the nearly 10,000 sq. ft restaurant is built around an open kitchen, offering guests an unobstructed view of the live-fire culinary action, a 360-degree centrepiece bar, a private dining room and an outdoor terrace.

The menu showcases the flame-cooked signature dishes for which the original Amsterdam location is known, reimagined for the London dining scene and inspired by both local and international ingredients.

3812 Gallery

3812 Gallery brings its programme of contemporary Chinese art to a 2,800 sq. ft space at The Whiteley. Founded in Hong Kong by Calvin Hui and Mark Peaker, the gallery is driven by a vision to promote Chinese contemporary art on a global scale, representing artists whose works feature in leading institutions. Fostering a dialogue between Asian and Western artists, 3812 Gallery reinforces The Whiteley as a destination for collectors and art enthusiasts alike.

It offers curated exhibitions, talks, and immersive experiences, including a 2026 exhibition featuring Thomas Ngan, marking his first solo show in the UK. Dedicated to nurturing emerging talent, 3812 is also launching its inaugural Artist Residency Programme.

Adventures in Furniture

Adventures in Furniture has opened its fourth London showroom at The Whiteley, spanning 3,500 sq. ft across two floors. Founded 25 years ago in Islington, the independent interiors brand is renowned for its sustainably crafted, customisable furniture and commitment to European craftsmanship. Designed by Tanner + Partners, the immersive showroom blends retail functionality with a gallery-like experience, featuring the ‘Sound of Design’ listening concept and the ‘Custom Colour Studio’, inviting visitors to explore finishes and personalise select pieces.

Duck & Dry

Opening imminently, high-end blow dry and hair styling specialists Duck & Dry have taken a 1,100 sq. ft courtyard space at The Whiteley. Founded by Yulia Rorstrom in 2014, Duck & Dry introduced the US blow dry bar concept to the UK and has since become London’s largest and most popular blow dry bar. In addition to experience-led blow dries, the new location will offer haircutting, styling and treatments, with individual styling pods, group areas and a champagne bar.

Guillam Coffee House

Guillam Coffee House has opened its fifth central London site at The Whiteley, bringing its distinctive approach to single-origin, traceable coffee to Queensway. Occupying a 600 sq. ft design-led space set within The Whiteley’s historic façade, the café serves premium speciality coffee and artisan pastries, offering a warm, neighbourhood-inspired meeting point for the local community.

Alex Michelin, Founder and CEO of Valouran, commented:

“The arrival of these brands marks the beginning of an exciting and defining next chapter for The Whiteley. Our ambition has always been to reimagine this iconic landmark as a destination that unites London, where heritage, craft and innovation come together under one roof, welcoming residents, hotel guests and visitors alike. These brands will be followed by the opening of Six Senses London – which will feature the group’s first ever private members club, Six Senses Place – as well a line-up of additional brands we will be announcing throughout 2026. With our commercial space now 89% let and 76%, this is testament not only to the quality of the product we have delivered, but also to the growing prominence of the neighbourhood as a sought-after London destination.”

Adam Goldin, Head of UK at C C Land, added:

“These openings – handpicked as part of our wider mission to redefine Queensway through a meticulous selection of retail, leisure and lifestyle offerings – mark an exciting milestone for The Whiteley. We are creating a destination that celebrates the building’s unique heritage while driving Queensway’s wider transformation into one of West London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods. To see this vision come to life, together with the imminent opening of Six Senses London, is a truly momentous occasion for us all.”

Marcus Meijer, CEO of MARK, commented:

“A carefully curated collection of commercial occupiers across leisure, retail and food & beverage will help establish The Whiteley as a destination in its own right, driving footfall to the Queensway area and creating a virtuous cycle that encourages further occupiers while also supporting residential values through a premium offering.”

The Whiteley stands as a cornerstone of Queensway’s wider re-imagination, guided by the Queensway Steering Group – a collective of local landowners and investors committed to improving the street through unprecedented investment. Public realm enhancements are underway, including widened pavements, extensive regreening, new gates into Hyde Park, upgrades to two Underground stations, all-day dining pavilions and a programme of public art installations.
