Taking wood surfaces to another level, without compromising on sustainability or quality in the process, Elegante Veneers constitute a three-dimensional format made from reconstituted Italian ALPI veneer from Ayous trees.

A tropical tree native to West and Central Africa, the Ayous tree is fast-growing and sustainably produced, offering a grain neutral timber that can be easily coloured and processed to create beautifully dynamic surface solutions that replicate any timber species.

A genuine wood surface with a stable, engineered construction, Elegante Veneers offer the beauty of timber with enhanced reliability – allowing customers to enjoy the refined look of real wood, while benefitting from the improved stability and flexibility.

As the products are sold in sheets, the result is a unique, but colour consistent flexible surface solution made with a low-density structure. This means the sheets are extremely lightweight compared to an alternative wood equivalent.

Customers have the choice 21 profiles, 3 shapes and 8 colours to choose from, ranging from the deep shade of Ebony to the cooler tone of White Oak. To colour the veneer, the thin layers of Ayous are bleached, stained and layered to replicate any grain or timber structure required, resulting in a realistic looking wood without using endangered and exotic species. The layers of veneer are then moulded and CNC-machined to the requested profile shape, resulting in a surface that can be personalised to suit every design preference.

Further adding to the collection, Havwoods has launched the new Elegante Flatsheet – a collection of flatsheet-only finishes matching the existing profiled Elegante Veneers species options – plus four new flatsheet-only finishes (Light American Walnut, Thermo Oak, Rosewood and Makassar).

The flatsheet is a single-faced option where an oak balancing layer is used on the reverse of the sheet. Alternatively, there is also a double-faced version available where the chosen species is matched on both sides. Fire-resistant and moisture-resistant options are also available on request.
