Conran and Partners Defines a New Interior Language for Brent Cross’s Regeneration

At The Maple, Related Argent’s first BTR development to complete at Brent Cross Town, Conran and Partners has created interiors for the apartments and shared amenities that shape a sense of belonging and community within a new urban neighbourhood.

Co-working area

Conran and Partners is an internationally renowned architecture and interior design practice, founded by Sir Terence Conran. With studios in London and Hong Kong, Conran and Partners’ portfolio extends around the world and embraces a rich and varied range of cultures, typologies and scales.

Conran and Partners has completed the interior design for The Maple, marking the first Build-to-Rent scheme as part of the wider £8 billion regeneration of Brent Cross Town by Related Argent. Serving 600 apartments spread across two buildings, the state-of-the-art amenities create an extension to the comfort and individuality of each residence and set a new standard for BTR developments in the city.

The interior design of the buildings, with architecture by Allies and Morrison and Squire & Partners respectively, reflects their distinct locations within the masterplan. The Maple 1, positioned closer to the square, features interiors that respond to the urban grain, materials, and vibrancy of the new public realm, while The Maple 2 adopts a design language and palette inspired by the natural character of the adjacent Claremont Park.

From the vibrant lobby, co-working lounge, and shared kitchen of The Maple 1, to the wellness suite, gym, and pool of The Maple 2, every element has been conceived to foster a sense of belonging, a place where residents can live well, work well, and feel part of a growing community.

Residents and guests are welcomed into a central lobby, reminiscent of a hotel foyer, that serves as both the social and service heart of the development, connecting the two residential buildings. The design combines tactile, raw materials with refined detailing: soft oak, terrazzo flooring, and a tonal, earth-inspired Clayworks ceiling create a calm, grounded atmosphere, complemented by subtle layers of colour and texture introduced through curated furniture, artwork, planting, and styling.

The 25-metre-long pool with sauna and jacuzzi

The space unfolds through a series of zones that shift in mood and scale, encouraging both gathering and retreat. Anchoring the space, a dramatic staircase with bespoke curved-tile handrails and planting creates a striking architectural focal point.

The feature staircase provides access to one of the development’s CoWorking spaces. Custom-built oak booths with tan leather upholstery and playful pendant lighting create intimate nooks for focused working, whilst a generous communal table anchors the space and promotes dialogue.

Artworks by Josephine Hicks were commissioned for the Co-Working space, drawing inspiration from the blurred boundaries of working from home, capturing the quiet chaos and everyday distractions, introducing moments of vibrancy and contrasting the natural tactility of cork and timber.

Level 8 is home to the Garden Kitchen – a bookable communal lounge, kitchen and dining space designed with interiors that balance informality and elegance. A sunlit yellow Marenco sofa and Carl Hansen’s Cuba Chairs complement cork and concrete tables, framed by muted neutrals and warm timber, while a large garden terrace extends the communal space into an urban oasis above the newly-formed neighbourhood.

Wellness Lounge

Wellness is interwoven throughout The Maple, with a wellness area on the ground floor featuring a lounge, a 25-meter swimming pool with sauna, jacuzzi and hot tub area, and a gym with dedicated fitness studios.

The wellness lounge, which doubles as a reception area, is designed with a restrained material palette and a focus on atmosphere. Light, reflection and movement define these spaces, from deep blue veneer panelling that fills the volume, to soft drapery, rich textures and the interplay of polished stone and matte walls.

Carefully curated furniture, including an angular concrete table, adds depth and sophistication to the space, while the illumination and shimmer of dichroic panels introduce vibrant hues and infuse the interiors with attitude and energy. A grid-like panelling guides frames views through to the studios.

Inside the gym, sleek black equipment contrasts against neutral-toned floors, while the dichroic panels reflect warm hues that offer both privacy to the studios and a dynamic visual experience.

Echoing the overarching wellness theme, the pool features a serene palette of natural stone, soft green tile, and warm timber finishes. The timber-effect wall tiles harmonise with the surrounding materials, while the softly washed green walls and lush planting evoke a sense of tranquillity and connection to nature.

Each space has been designed to feel intuitive and enduring, a backdrop for life that evolves with its community. Conran and Partners has set a new benchmark for lifestyle-led living, rooted in connection and centred on the wellbeing of those who call The Maple home.

Simon Kincaid, Partner and Principal at Conran and Partners says:

At The Maple, we’ve combined our experience in hospitality and residential design to create spaces that blend aspiration with comfort and belonging. By layering the sociability and service of a hotel with the warmth of home, we’ve crafted environments that feel both elevated and intuitive, as well as a grounded, unique sense of place. From co-working and social zones to wellness and relaxation areas, every space is designed to foster connection, well-being, and a genuine sense of community in this new urban neighbourhood.”
