Local Landmark Rejuvenated: Royal Nawaab Pyramid & Newmor Wallcoverings
The iconic Stockport glass pyramid, referred to locally as the 7th wonder of the world stood empty for almost seven years, before its £15M transformation, to create the spectacular Royal Nawaab Pyramid, a world-class banqueting and dining destination.

This ambitious development was led by award-winning restaurant group Royal Nawaab in collaboration with WDC Creative. Together, they set out to reimagine the 86,000 sq ft structure into an exceptional venue, capable of hosting 2,000 guests for weddings, celebrations, and dining on a grand scale. With a vision to create not just a restaurant, but a true landmark, the interiors were designed to balance luxury with practicality, drawing inspiration from Royal Nawaab’s rich heritage of Indian and Pakistani cuisine.

Newmor Wallcoverings played a key role in the project, supplying a mix of bespoke designs and stylish standard collections to complement the Pyramid’s bold architecture. Selected for both their aesthetic and performance qualities, the wallcoverings support the operational demands of such a high capacity venue while creating a luxurious backdrop for unforgettable events.

The final result is a truly magnificent venue, layered with rich materials, bespoke craftsmanship and design-led finishes. It is far more than a regional special events and restaurant space.
