Luma Mirrors: Reflecting Excellence in Hospitality Design
At Design Insider, we’re proud to spotlight innovative suppliers shaping the future of commercial interiors. This month, we introduce Luma Mirrors, a specialist in bespoke illuminated and framed mirrors for the hospitality and marine sectors. Rooted in family values and driven by a passion for exceptional service, Luma Mirrors is led by Managing Director and Founder Laura Martinez McGregor, working alongside her sister, Marian Martinez, who heads Sales and Marketing.
With a background steeped in hospitality, this dynamic duo brings warmth, precision, and a highly collaborative spirit to every project they touch. We caught up with Laura to discover more about the company’s heritage, standout projects, and what the future holds for this growing design-led brand.

1. Could you tell us about Luma Mirrors’ heritage?
Absolutely. Luma Mirrors is a family-run business with deep roots in the hospitality sector. Our father worked as a hotel director in Ibiza and the property he managed for over 30 years is now the icon Nobu so we quite literally grew up surrounded by the rhythm of hotel refurbishments and the spirit of hospitality.
Working in this industry is very nostalgic for us—it’s where we inherited our father’s passion for excellent client service, and it’s what continues to drive us today. We had the pleasure of returning to the Nobu in 2021 and we were graciously hosted and treated like family by the Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay.

Our journey began with our sister company, Gemm London, which launched over 15 years ago as a hotel fit-out glass and solid surface specialist. Through that work, we gained deep insight into the operational and aesthetic needs of hotel interiors. As demand for high-quality, illuminated mirror solutions grew, I created Luma Mirrors to focus exclusively on bespoke mirrors for hospitality and marine.
Today, Luma offers both supply-only and supply-and-install services, working closely with designers, hoteliers and cruise ships to bring their visions to life.
2. What sets Luma Mirrors apart in the commercial sector?
Luma Mirrors is a proudly female led company, bilingual business, and we believe that our unique perspective and inclusive approach adds real value in the commercial sector.
Our commitment to old-fashioned hospitality values, genuine service, reliability, and attention to detail—runs through everything we do. It’s not just about the product, it’s about the experience we provide.
We pride ourselves on the strong, long-term relationships we’ve built, and the loyalty of our clients is testament to that. We’re proud to see so much repeat business and to be considered a trusted partner in the eyes of our customers.
What also sets us apart is the bespoke nature of our mirrors. No two projects are the same, each mirror is tailored to complement the interior design and meet the specific functional needs of the hospitality or guest space.
3. Can you introduce the key team members behind the business?
Our leadership team is proudly led by myself, Laura Martinez McGregor, as Managing Director and Founder; my sister, Marian Martinez, who oversees Sales and Marketing; Sophia Xiong, our multilingual Project Coordinator based in Asia; and Helen Howard, our Project Coordinator based in Spain.

We’re incredibly lucky to work so closely together. There’s a deep understanding and shared vision between us, which creates a strong foundation for the business. We support each other daily and bring different strengths to the table, something that truly benefits our clients.
4. Can you talk us through three key projects and the products designed?
Certainly! Here are three that really showcase the breadth of what we do:
The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton – Working alongside renowned designers Cunningham Mclean, we supplied three bespoke mirrors: an arch-shaped, front-illuminated bathroom mirror (The Chester), sleek shaving mirrors in chrome, and brushed brass desk vanity mirrors to complement the hotel’s sophisticated palette.
Cruise Ship – We collaborated with Bath Fitter on a unique marine project, supplying and installing illuminated bathroom mirrors, vanities, and shelving in the guest cabin bathrooms. All pieces were custom-designed by Luma Mirrors to fit the ship’s compact layouts while delivering luxury and functionality.
South Lodge Hotel, Reed Lodges – Designed by award winning Sparcstudio, this wellness-focused development called for mirror designs that harmonised with the lakeside lodge interiors. We supplied a front-lit mirror in a warm brass finish, colour-matched to Hansgrohe fittings for a cohesive, calming look.
5. How do you develop new products and select designers to collaborate with?
Our product development is very much guided by real-world insight. We study market trends, revisit successful design elements from past projects, and just as importantly look at what hasn’t worked to refine our offering.
We’re also heavily invested in R&D, particularly when it comes to finishes, lighting technology and mirror longevity, to ensure our products remain both visually appealing and technically reliable over time.
6. Will you be exhibiting at any commercial events in 2025?
Yes, we’re excited to be attending and sponsoring several key industry events in 2025:
CSI Miami – where we’ll be a proud gold sponsors
HIX – Europe’s leading hotel design event – This year we have collaborated with a top designer, not yet revealed, on the main HIX concept installation.
CSI Hamburg – a great opportunity to connect with our marine sector clients
We love these events for the opportunity they give us to connect face-to-face with both new and long-time clients. It very important for us to have the brand awareness and emerge ourselves with the community.
7. What does the future hold for Luma Mirrors?
Looking ahead, the future of Luma Mirrors is both ambitious and sustainability-focused. We’re committed to deepening our relationships within the hotel and marine sectors, continuing to build our reputation as a trusted design partner known for quality, innovation, and exceptional service.
As we grow, we’re investing in our team, developing new mirror solutions, and actively working on building a more sustainable supply chain to reduce our environmental impact an increasingly important focus for our clients and for us as a business.
The journey ahead is full of potential, and we’re looking forward to what comes next.
