What is really changing in travel and hospitality, and how should design respond?

At a recent round table hosted by Studio Moren, developers, operators, designers, strategists and investors came together to explore the shifting expectations shaping the sector. From wellness and performance to hybrid living, community and digitalisation, the discussion focused on how spaces can respond with greater clarity, relevance and intent.

This carousel shares five key insights from that conversation, drawn from the lived experience, real projects and honest tensions raised around the table.

Thank you to Studio Moren for hosting such an insightful discussion, and to all speakers for contributing so openly.

“Form follows feeling,” says Suchi Reddy.

We spoke to her about how this philosophy is shaping a new generation of human-centred spaces across Humanscale’s global showroom portfolio.

Working across cities including Chicago, Paris, Sydney and Shanghai, her work draws on neuroaesthetics to explore how light, movement and materiality influence how people experience space.

From calm, intuitive layouts to environments designed around the body in motion, the conversation offers a thoughtful perspective on how commercial interiors are evolving.

How should design respond to landscapes of this scale and significance?

At The Gígur Visitor Centre in Iceland, Nissen Richards Studio, working with SP(R)INT STUDIO, has created a permanent exhibition that sits in constant dialogue with its surroundings.

Set within the extraordinary landscape of Lake Mývatn, the project moves beyond traditional visitor centre design. Instead of competing with panoramic views, the interior works with them, extending the experience of the natural environment.

What’s particularly compelling is the balance: scientific insight is made accessible, play sits alongside education and the design remains deliberately restrained, allowing the landscape to lead.

The result is a visitor centre that feels less like a contained exhibition and more like part of the terrain itself, a place where architecture, storytelling and environment are intrinsically connected.

This conversation with Colin Bone gives you a clear sense of what it takes to grow a design practice with real international ambition, without losing the values that define it.

How do you scale globally while staying collaborative, research-led, and rooted in place?

In this interview, Colin reflects on his own journey into architecture and design, the founding vision behind Kettle Collective, and the thinking that continues to shape the studio’s work. You’ll take away insight into how collaboration across architecture, interiors, and masterplanning leads to stronger design outcomes, and why rigorous research is central to creating work that responds to context rather than chasing trends.

You’ll also gain a better understanding of how Kettle Collective is expanding its global presence, strengthening its multidisciplinary offer, and approaching sustainability through a lens of local identity, climate response, and long-term value. It is an honest and thoughtful perspective on leadership, growth, and building a design studio with both purpose and ambition.

"As we expand and bring new talent into the business, it’s essential that every individual aligns with our culture and our commitment to quality."
