BCFA Return to Blythswood Hotel
The BCFA is pleased to announce that following the success of the Glasgow Networking event in 2017 Tjhe BCFA & members will be returning to the stunning Kimpton Blythswood Hotel on the 27th February for an evening of networking. This year the BCFA have exclusive access to the Monte Carlo Suite and Rally Bar where the event will take place.
The beautiful landscape that locals know of as Blythswood Square originally started as a residential development in the 1820s and since has preserved ample green space in Glasgow’s city centre. The idyllic gardens and stately Georgian townhouses feature four identical terraces’ which was transformed into the picturesque Kimpton Blythswood Hotel.
The hotel’s renovation began in 2017 and the final refurbishments have just been completed. The Interior Design Agency, Graven, is responsible for the hotel’s most recent renovation, along with the previous one in 2007, with Jim Hamilton taking the lead on both projects. Jim Hamilton, Creative Director at Graven stated:
“Blythswood Square has an amazing history and we all knew it well in its days as the RSAC club. It’s been a real privilege to have been involved with the hotel from the start. In rebranding it as a Kimpton, the new owners, IHG, have really invested and raised the quality to the next level. We are really pleased with the refurbished restaurant and bar. The Penthouse is a fantastic addition as well, undoubtedly the best hotel suite in the City!”
Graven worked alongside IHG’s internal design team for the refurbishment, led by Interior Design Director for Europe, Henry Reeve. The following BCFA members were involved in supplying some products as part of the refurbishment.
Select Contract Beds manufactured the beds in the hotel; providing luxurious fillings with high quality spring units, to make night time restful and with support in the right places. The beds provided were so popular that customers at the hotel requested Selects Contracts details!
Entertainment Seating (ESL) also worked along-side the Graven Interior Design Studio to manufacture the cushions, providing lovely plump feather filled cushions.
We are very much looking forward to hosting our event at Kimpton Blythswood Hotel and we hope our members make the most of this wonderful venue selected.
