edyn aims to inspire travellers with design-led aparthotels and serviced apartments, offering vibrant experiences and connections. The company redesigned its London Bridge office after assembling an internal taskforce to understand how its employees’ needs had evolved and how the company could attract them back to the office post-pandemic.

Designed in-house by edyn’s Development Studio, and in collaboration with London-based design studios Maison August and Atelier Ochre, the workplace design reflects edyn’s desire to create spaces that nourish and enliven the soul – whilst finding intelligent ways to promote creativity, innovation, and collaboration. The new 400m2 space is an inspiring and experiential workplace, that has been thoughtfully devised to foster a sense of community amongst the team.

Sarah Herman, Director at Bolon UK added, “We were delighted that our flooring was chosen for edyn’s head office redesign. We are always proud to work with innovative partners who invest in sustainable design practices and were especially pleased to have been selected for this project by edyn, a company which encourages such an approach within the hospitality and travel sector.”

Sustainable design practices were embedded into the project from an early stage, with investments made in durable materials with longevity. Bolon’s design-led Artisan, Botanic and Now collections were created specifically for use in high traffic areas and were chosen because of their resilience and durability. edyn also worked alongside climate positive procurement consultancy Dodds & Shute to source timber, furniture, and lighting from responsible suppliers including Carl Hansen, Kvadrat and Muuto in addition to vintage and second-hand furniture.

Acknowledging flexible ways of working has been key in the development of this project, which has been afforded by dividing the open plan space into different zones, including traditional private meeting spaces, hot desking, co-working and a lounge for more casual meetings. The space also fully transitions from day-to-night for after-hours socialising, with a bespoke DJ booth, cocktail bar, and disco ball. Bold colours, natural materials, and statement furniture are anchored by lush greenery, carefully curated to achieve a dynamic sequence within one large open plan space.

Di Gwinnell, Group People & Culture Director, edyn commented, “We are committed to creating environments that inspire our teams to learn, engage and evolve, so for us, it was essential that our office space was not only designed for work, but acknowledged and indulged social engagement, community and creativity. As a result, we’ve built a dynamic workspace that reflects the ethos and values of an innovative company like edyn.”

Sarah Herman, Director at Bolon UK added, “We were delighted that edyn chose our flooring for its head office redesign. We are always proud to work with innovative partners who invest in sustainable design practices and were especially pleased to have been chosen by edyn, a company which encourages such an approach within the hospitality and travel sector.”
