Chieftain Fabrics: Earthly

Earthly is Chieftain Fabrics first product to be manufactured from 100% recycled fibres. Incredibly, there are no dyes used in its manufacture. This process is very complex and time-consuming involving pre dyed cotton scraps which are then sorted by colour.

The complete process begins with the recovery of cotton scraps which are torn to create cotton fibres. These fibres are then ready for spinning. When the fibres have gone through the spinning process, a new yarn is created, and it is ready for the next step – weaving.

Earthly is treated to Crib 5 and suitable for domestic and contract applications. It is also GRS certified meaning our products and its manufacturing activities fall within the requirements of the Global Recycle Standards.
