Behind every beautifully designed hotel room is a layer of craftsmanship that guests may never consciously notice, but would certainly miss if it wasn’t there.

At No.15 Bath, Philip Cowan Interiors collaborated with GuestHouse Hotels and Interior Design Director Emma Montier to deliver bespoke soft furnishings that bring warmth, comfort and refinement to the recently refurbished guestrooms.

From hand-crafted triple pinch pleat curtains and contrasting Roman blinds to carefully considered sheers, blackout linings and bespoke detailing, every element was designed to complement the building’s Georgian heritage while enhancing the guest experience.

The result is a scheme that feels calm, elegant and effortlessly layered, proving that the most successful interiors are often shaped by the details working quietly in the background.

“Nothing is infinitely flexible.”

It’s a simple observation, but one that challenges much of the conversation around modular design.

In our exclusive Q&A, Hayley Lightfoot, Designer at sixteen3, reflects on the frustrations that led to the development of Camino, a modular seating system designed around geometry, clarity and real-world problem solving.

From impossible floorplans and sleepless nights of overthinking to the idea that the best systems are built on strong frameworks rather than endless options, the conversation explores what flexibility actually means in practice.

In the latest edition of Workplace Matters, Rob explores why the best workplace cultures aren’t imposed through statements and slogans. They’re shaped through stories, rituals, emotions and experiences.
