Loomah’s Jagged Houndstooth – ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog!

Loomah, a BCFA member, are excited to announce the launch of their latest HOUNDSTOOTH collection.  Named after the jagged teeth of a dog, Houndstooth originates from the Scottish Lowlands where it was originally worn by sheepherders in the 19th Century.

Most often associated with more conservative menswear, this distinctive geometric pattern characterised by its four-pointed shapes, lends itself beautifully to interiors.

“Houndstooth is often considered a more traditional pattern due to its heritage, but we have played with the size, scale and colour, opting for oversized graphic patterns to create a more contemporary aesthetic.” – Antonina, designer at Loomah.

Houndstooth can often feel quite masculine so we have used the finest worsted wool which has a sumptuous almost velvet finish and incorporated polished cotton to add an element of lustre and soften the overall finish. Pops of jewel tones punctuate the monochrome colour palette creating a striking visual contrast.

DesignInsiderHoundstoothIrvineAll our designs are custom made to order and can be adapted to your exact specification.  Whilst we have opted for larger scale patterns to make a bold statement, a small scale houndstooth, or puppytooth, can provide a more modest way of incorporating this pattern into your space.
