Los Mochis London City: Elevating Culinary Horizons with a New Rooftop Destination. Launched Spring 2024

Los Mochis, the much-loved restaurant where Tokyo meets Tulum, is excited to announce the launch of their flagship rooftop restaurant Los Mochis London City.

Founded by Markus Thesleff, Los Mochis London City will bring their Pan-Pacific pairing of Mexican-Japanese cuisine from West London to the heart of Liverpool Street, taking guests seamlessly from day to night with new and vibrant signature dishes and cocktails in their biggest site yet.

Building on the cult fan base established by the launch of their highly acclaimed Notting Hill location in 2021, the new 14,000 sq. ft restaurant, designed by OV & Co from Los Angeles, will sprawl across the 9th floor rooftop of 100 Liverpool Street’s Broadgate, boasting a bar, restaurant, two private dining rooms and a 3,000 sq. ft outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the city.

On arrival, guests will be immersed into the world of Los Mochis as they are greeted by a 24ft vibrant, hand painted mural by Mexican artist, Tellaeche. With private dedicated elevators, guests will be whisked up to the rooftop, offering breath taking views across London—from the Shard to the London Eye and St Paul’s. Diners will be greeted by a 7 meter curated Wine and Sake room before entering the Agaveria Bar & Lounge where low banquettes sweeping along the entire wall, set against floor to ceiling windows. The Lounge is the perfect vantage point to watch the sun set across the capital while listening to resident DJ’s late into the night.

The main bar will take centre stage as once again the ‘Agaveria’ plays a crucial role boasting one of the largest selections of fine and rare tequilas and mezcals in Europe. The cocktail list will continue to take inspiration from the restaurant’s dual heritage with innovative serves including the signature Los Mochis Tommy’s and Pepiño Jalapeno Margarita from Los Mochis Notting Hill, alongside new craft cocktails tailored specifically for Los Mochis City.

For oenophiles and sake-lovers alike, there will be Wine and Sake Sommeliers on hand to guide guests through their collection with considered pairings to complement dishes, there will even be agave pairing.

As diners continue onto the terrace, another striking bar awaits framed by hand painted Mexican Talavera tiles. Bordered by cacti and set against the backdrop of St Paul’s Cathedral and The Gherkin, the terrace will offer a fully covered and heated haven. With one of the latest outdoor terrace licences in London, diners and cocktail lovers will be able to sip sundowners al fresco until late (3am).

As the nights draw in, the music is turned up and Los Mochis London City comes into its own as revellers spill out onto the terrace or sit at low-lit tables in the Lounge with a programme of live music and DJs spinning international rhythms to set the mood.

Los Mochis Executive Chef, Leonard Tanyag, previously Head Chef at Okku Dubai, has meticulously curated a diverse menu, blending Japanese elegance with Mexican vibrancy. Each dish is researched and finessed, using the finest, seasonal, and sustainable products. Guests can expect all the fan favourites from Notting Hill which made the brand popular, including Truffle Guacamole on Crispy Rice, Spicy Hiramasa Maki, and Trailer Park Chicken Taco, as well as the stunning new Sushi Bar. Here, the team have expanded the sushi menu with a selection of makis, nigiris, and sashimis. The restaurant, with space for 150 diners, will feature a Sushi Bar and Robata Grill with 15 different Kushiyaki (grilled skewers) charred over open fire, as well as unique sharing dishes make your own tacos, such as Wagyu Grade 5 Tomahawk steaks, and whole roasted King Crab Legs. Completing the set is an impressive 12m custom willow tunnel sculpture by artist Cherry Chung as well as 2 Private Dining Rooms.
