Roca Group expands its global design network with the opening of Sydney Gallery.

Located in Surry Hills, the new space brings together Roca and Laufen within a shared, design-led environment that moves beyond the traditional showroom model.

Designed by DKO, the two-level gallery sits within a heritage building, where original architectural elements are carefully reinterpreted to create a contemporary spatial experience shaped by light, materiality and flow.

It reflects a broader shift we’re seeing across the sector:
➡️ showrooms becoming cultural spaces
➡️ brands creating destinations for conversation, not just specification

As part of Roca Group’s growing international network, spanning cities from Barcelona to Shanghai, the Sydney opening strengthens its presence in a key global market while contributing to an ongoing dialogue around design, innovation and wellbeing.

We spoke to Gail Race about the growing intersection between luxury interiors and human performance.

Working across high-end residential and hospitality projects, her approach moves beyond aesthetics to consider how light, materials, acoustics and spatial flow actively shape how people feel, function and live within a space.

From the importance of emotional intelligence in design to the risks of “well-washing” and the opportunities emerging in longevity-led hospitality, the conversation offers a thoughtful perspective on where the industry is heading.
