Mullan Lighting Introduces Three New Finishes to Its Ceramics Collection
Mullan Lighting has introduced three new ceramic finishes to its Rivale collection: Rust Iron, Oatstone and Metallic Earth.

Their portfolio boasts over 860 standard fixtures, each designed with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Available in both wall and pendant versions, these additions expand the visual range of the collection and open up new ways to use it across different interior schemes. Rather than altering the form itself, the new finishes shift the mood of the piece, allowing the same silhouette to sit differently depending on the surrounding palette and material context.
At the centre of the collection is Rivale’s compact ceramic shade, defined by its softly waved profile. The shape gives the fittings a sculptural quality, allowing them to contribute as much to the character of a room as to its illumination. There is a sense of movement in the form and, combined with the tactile nature of the ceramic, it gives the pieces a presence that feels decorative without being overly dominant.
The three new finishes each bring a distinct quality to the collection. Rust Iron introduces a darker, more weathered tone that works well in interiors built around contrast and rawer materials. It feels grounded and textural, making it particularly suited to spaces where timber, stone, plaster or darker finishes play an important role. Oatstone moves in a softer direction, with a lighter, more muted appearance that lends itself to calmer interiors and more tonal schemes. It brings warmth and subtle texture without drawing too much attention to itself. Metallic Earth offers something more reflective, giving the ceramic a slightly sharper edge while still retaining its handmade surface. The result is a finish that feels more refined and slightly more pronounced within a space.
What is particularly useful about the new finishes is the way they allow the same design to take on different roles. In one room, Rivale can sit quietly within the wider palette, adding texture and softness. In another, it can act as a more noticeable decorative element, creating contrast or drawing attention to a particular area of the interior.
