SHAW CONTRACT INTRODUCES ‘IN STOCK UK’ FOR FAST TURNAROUND PROJECTS

As businesses are emerging from lockdown, leading carpet tile and resilient flooring supplier Shaw Contract has launched its ‘In Stock UK’ programme with a focus on supporting the needs of flooring contractors and facilities managers.

With some suppliers not able to meet the upswing in demand as Britain gets back to work, the company believes it is uniquely placed to meet burgeoning market demand for refurbs and new fit-out projects, with quality products all tested to EU/ISO standards.

While some will already be familiar with the company’s wide range of high-quality products, Shaw Contract recognises an opportunity to help new customers around the UK with a range of carpet tile and resilient flooring options. As well as immediate dispatch through the ‘In Stock UK’ programme, Shaw Contract is offering favourable credit terms for all account holders to help those with an eye on cash flow to get back to work.

The ‘In Stock UK’ offer includes Rapid Select, which comes in four different styles, and District, which comprises three different styles, all in a tile size of 50 x 50 cm. While style Roam from Rapid Select is a 25 x 100 cm plank.

The resilient flooring collections range from the Loose lay LVT collection Unite are available in three styles, Concrete + Composed Rigid Core LVT, and the Woven LVT collection reThink. All colour options are available in all the collections as part of the ‘In Stock UK’ offer, and together combine to provide flooring solutions for a range of different applications and needs.

In June the Construction Leadership Council set out its Roadmap to Recovery Plan for the UK Construction sector. This stated that the restarting of work on the broadest basis (infrastructure, commercial, house building, RMI) by major contractors, thousands of SMEs across all regions of the UK, and skilled tradespeople, is the best way of reactivating the construction and built environment ecosystem and ensuring cash flows within the industry.

“Our key message is that we can offer the market a really quick solution – we have high quality, proven products in stock right now, which we consider offer great value,” says Andrew Jackson, Commercial Director EMEA. “We know there are quite a lot of tight turnaround projects on the table, as the industry gets back on its feet and tries to deal with the backlog of jobs that have accumulated over the past four months or so. Our ‘In Stock UK’ programme means that we can dispatch within 24 hours to Shaw Contract account holders, subject to issue of our full acknowledgement of order details.”

The company acquired a manufacturing facility in the UK in 2018, and manufactures carpet tiles that are made for the specific needs of the UK, European, Middle East and African markets at competitive prices. What’s more, it sees the local manufacturing message gaining more and more traction as it can help with fast turnaround project needs, while keeping ‘tile miles’ to a minimum.

Samantha Dawe, Marketing Director EMEA at Shaw Contract, says: “As a vertically integrated company, we hold our own yarn in stock at our UK manufacturing facility. We are the only carpet manufacturer in Scotland and we have 700 tonnes (or 1,250,000sq metres) of yarn available. We understand that continuity and consistency of supply are key for our customers, who often will need to specify flooring for a project with the tightest of schedules in today’s market conditions.”

Design, quality and being fit for purpose are key to the whole In Stock offer, whilst Shaw Contract account holders also benefit from quick dispatch times.
