What happens when a 1905 Grade II Listed “gentleman’s chambers” becomes one of London’s most premium fully managed workspaces?

At 170 Piccadilly, dMFK has carefully restored and reimagined Egyptian House and Dudley House for GPE, revealing hidden cornicing, celebrating a rediscovered wrought-iron lift shaft, and weaving contemporary workplace design into historic fabric.

From a clay-red boardroom and leather bar to a magnolia-filled terrace overlooking Piccadilly, the scheme balances heritage with next-generation flexibility, all while achieving WELL Enabled and BREEAM Excellent standards.

This isn’t a flex workspace template. It’s a building-specific reinvention.

Discover how dMFK approached the retrofit on Design Insider.

In-room dining should feel indulgent, not improvised.

The Burgess Room Service Trolley redefines the experience, delivering restaurant-quality presentation from kitchen to guest room with ease. Smooth to manoeuvre and elegantly designed, it ensures food arrives hot, fresh and beautifully set, with optional Food Warmer Boxes maintaining temperature throughout service.

A simple upgrade that elevates the entire guest experience.

When SpaceInvader completed the new Manchester office for Pinsent Masons at No.1 St Michaels, it marked a decisive move after 15 years in Spinningfields and a clear step-change in how the firm wants to work.

Set across 2,452 sq m on the 7th and 8th floors, this is not a cosmetic refresh. From early workshops through to delivery, the brief centred on functional elegance and a genuine response to how the Manchester team now works.

Technology and hybrid working were the clear drivers. The outcome is a carefully calibrated mix of acoustically sealed focus rooms at a ratio of 1 per 9 desks, small group rooms at 1 to 20, and 50% sit-stand desking within neighbourhood settings. Larger meeting rooms are no longer quietly occupied by one person and a laptop.

The aesthetic deliberately steps away from brand-led red and white. Instead, references to Manchester’s brick and timber are translated into a calm, contemporary vernacular. Neutral tones, restrained detailing and no unnecessary visual noise.

The ash veneer reception desk anchors the welcome lounge with quiet confidence, while the main social hub opens onto a terrace with uninterrupted city views. Even the Workplace Room has been given natural light and outlook, rather than being treated as an afterthought.

Pinsent Masons describes the result as “calming yet vibrant” and “like home since day one.”

A modern, truly agile, tech-led workplace, delivered with clarity and care 👉 Read the full article, click on the grid link in our LininBio!
