Tim Groom Architects has unveiled plans for The Bower at Hyll Hotel — a new purpose-built venue for weddings, gatherings and private dining set within the Cotswolds landscape.

Scheduled to open in 2027, the project has been designed as a calm and atmospheric retreat embedded within the surrounding woodland, with architecture shaped through timber, stone, light and carefully framed views.

Rather than competing with its setting, The Bower has been conceived as a place of quiet ceremony and connection to nature, balancing rural familiarity with contemporary precision.

“We began with a sense of romanticism, not in a clichéd sense, but something grounded in the landscape itself,” says Tim Groom.

Textile-inspired interiors continue to shape commercial design, and Interface’s latest collection leans fully into that shift.

New carpet tile collection Crafted Connections™ takes cues from weaving, bouclé and batik techniques, translating the tactility and warmth of crafted textiles into flooring designed for contemporary workplaces and commercial environments.

What’s particularly interesting is how the collection balances softness and familiarity with practical performance and zoning flexibility, allowing designers to layer textures, define spaces and create subtle wayfinding through the floorplate itself.

The collection comprises three coordinated styles:
Thread Lightly explores woven texture and depth.
Bound to Last references oversized bouclé and mid-century tweeds.
Dual Effect introduces geometric batik-inspired patterning.

Alongside its design language, Crafted Connections also reflects Interface’s continued focus on low-carbon flooring innovation, incorporating bio-based materials and 100% recycled nylon.
