Motive creates a playful new London headquarters for AI-powered clinical research company Lindus
Award-winning creative consultancy Motive has transformed the London headquarters of Lindus into a vibrant brand-led workplace that reflects the company’s mission to transform clinical trials through AI, while celebrating the humour and humanity at the heart of its culture.

Motive is an award-winning creative consultancy specialising in brand-led workplace transformation and immersive spatial storytelling. Founded in 2022 by creative director Rob Venice, Motive works at the intersection of brand, culture and physical space, helping businesses turn their identity into something people can truly experience.
Located on Southwark Street near London Bridge, the workspace reimagines a pre-fitted office, transforming a generic environment into a highly personalised workplace that communicates Lindus’ purpose, values and personality through immersive storytelling, bespoke artwork and carefully considered brand integration. Lindus is a next-generation clinical research organisation (CRO) on a mission to transform clinical trials, using technology and artificial intelligence to help biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies bring new treatments to patients faster.

While the company’s work addresses some of healthcare’s most serious challenges, its culture is defined by an irreverent sense of humour, openness and a belief that work should also be enjoyable. Collaborating closely with the Lindus team, Motive looked beyond traditional brand assets to uncover the stories, rituals and personalities that define the business.
With little more than a logo, colour gradient and company values to work from, the studio immersed itself in the company’s culture, discovering everything from legendary company trips and practical jokes to meeting rooms named after memorable workplace mishaps.

Rebecca Burdell, Head of Operations at Lindus, said:
“Motive totally embraced our company mission, vision and culture in their designs. The ideas they came up with were absolutely spot on with maximum impact. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for creatives who actually understand what you’re about as a company and can smash it out in record time.”
Rob Venice, Founder and Creative Director of Motive, said:
“The challenge wasn’t creating a workplace about clinical trials; it was creating a workplace about the people changing them. Lindus has a rare ability to tackle serious healthcare challenges without taking itself too seriously. We wanted to create a space that reflected that balance — one that celebrates innovation and ambition while capturing the humour, personality and human connections that make the company unique. The result is a workplace that feels authentic to the team and impossible to mistake for anywhere else.”
The design narrative draws inspiration from James Lind, the Scottish physician credited with conducting one of the world’s earliest recorded clinical trials using citrus fruits to cure sailors of scurvy. This historical connection informed the design language throughout the second floor, where vibrant orange and lemon tones guide visitors through the workspace, framed by deep green accents inspired by the leaves of the fruit.

Visitors are welcomed by a hand-painted mural that projects Lindus’ mission into the future, while a bespoke display unit showcases awards celebrating successful clinical trials. Together, these installations create a visual reminder of the company’s purpose and the patients who ultimately benefit from its work.

The workplace has been organised to support different ways of working. The second floor provides flexible settings for focused work and collaboration, while the first floor has been designed around connection, creativity and shared experiences.
One of the most distinctive interventions is a bespoke tyre swing inspired by the Lindus logo, bringing the company’s value of “Make it Fun” to life and reinforcing the belief that innovation doesn’t happen in boring environments.

Elsewhere, a series of illustrated citrus characters represent the company’s core values, appearing throughout the workplace in murals, framed artworks and environmental graphics. In one playful scene, an orange and lemon exchange a high-five while passing tacos — a nod to the team’s Slack tradition of recognising colleagues with taco emojis.

Every graphic intervention throughout the project, from large-scale murals and environmental graphics to hand-painted values and wayfinding, was created by hand. The craftsmanship reflects Lindus’ belief that people remain central to progress, whether they are members of the team or the patients benefiting from clinical research.

The result is a workplace that balances scientific rigour with personality, transforming a standard office into an environment that celebrates culture as much as innovation. Functional yet expressive, the space captures Lindus’ ambition to reshape clinical research while giving its team a workplace that feels unmistakably their own.
