ORAC Present the Art Deco Collection
To celebrate 100 years of Art Deco, Orac introduces a carefully curated Art Deco Collection developed in collaboration with interior architect Aurélie Penneman.
Building on a successful longterm partnership, this new collection translates the enduring relevance of Art Deco into architectural elements designed for contemporary interiors.

Orac is the leading European manufacturer of architectural wall elements, specializing in coving, wall mouldings, ceiling roses, skirting, indirect lighting profile, and 3D wallcoverings.
Rather than revisiting Art Deco as a historic style, Orac and Penneman approach it as a design language, one defined by proportion, rhythm and precision. At its core, Art Deco is a way of shaping space, using architectural elements to guide, balance and soften interiors. These principles closely align with Orac’s philosophy of using mouldings, wall elements and profiles not as decoration, but as tools for structuring space.
Art Deco emerged at a unique moment when technological progress, innovative materials and traditional craftsmanship intersected. It resulted in a forward looking yet accessible aesthetic, balancing expression with restraint. That same balance remains central to Orac’s design approach today.
Geometry with Warmth and Character

Art Deco introduced rich but controlled architectural vocabulary. Clean linear forms were softened by arches, fans, and rounded details. Beveled doors and windows created depth and perspective, while decorative accents such as stained glass, mirrors and metalwork added refinement. Bold colour contrasts and deep jewel tones enhanced geometry, and a strong emphasis on verticality, symmetry and rhythm gave the style its global recognizability.
Inspired by sources as varied as Mayan temples, Egyptian pyramids and classical architecture, Art Deco became a bridge between ornament and simplicity, history and progress. This interplay resonates strongly with Orac’s mission: to create architectural elements that provide direction, rhythm, and identity, while remaining open to personal interpretation.
Key Art Deco Expressions

The Orac Art Deco Collection translates these principles into a series of recognisable architectural expressions, each offering flexibility for modern spaces.
Infinity | Soft transitions and classical proportions
The Infinity expression focuses on harmony and balance. A rounded cornice gently softens the transition between wall and ceiling, while horizontal wall lines structured to classic Art Deco ratios create visual calm. A moulding placed at one third height anchors the space, with the option to layer profiles in higher interiors to maintain proportion.
Myline | Vertical rhythm and framing
Verticality is a defining feature of Art Deco, and Myline celebrates this through rhythmic wall compositions. Wall mouldings with beads of varying sizes draw the eye upward, emphasizing height and elegance. A continuous cornice frames the wall, creating clarity and architectural cohesion.
Vertical Lines | Height, direction and structure
Vertical lines remain one of the most recognizable Art Deco elements. Orac’s SQUARE collection is perfectly suited to this expression. When applied vertically or in Lshaped corners, skirting boards form a refined wall rhythm that feels directional yet understated.
Horizontal Lines | Layered depth and balance
Stepped horizontal profiles are quintessentially Art Deco. Applied at the base of walls or near the ceiling, they add structure and create a layered sense of depth. Highline skirting boards reinterpret this idea for contemporary interiors, while a single horizontal line placed at twothirds height visually anchors the space. Profiles such as CX190 and the STEPS collection make this approach easy to achieve.
Rounded Shapes and Arches | Softening geometry
Curves and arches play an essential role in softening Art Deco’s strong lines. With the VALLEY LOOP 3D wall panel, curvature becomes an architectural feature of the wall itself. Combined with the Infinity cornice and P9900, walls, ceilings and openings flow seamlessly into a recognizable Art Deco signature.
Fluidity, Pattern and Structure
Art Deco also drew inspiration from naval architecture, where streamlined forms suggested motion and elegance. Orac’s Flex collection reflects this influence, allowing profiles to follow curves effortlessly and finish rounded walls with continuity and softness.
Sculptural surfaces are another hallmark of the style. Orac’s 3D wall panels, including COBBLE, RIDGE, MATRIX and PILLOW, reinterpret Art Deco relief patterns for today, using light and shadow to transform walls into subtle architectural focal points.
Columns and pilasters complete the vocabulary. In Art Deco, these elements became sleeker and more rhythmic, emphasizing height while maintaining balance. Orac’s columns and pilasters echo this refined monumentality, ideal for framing openings, reinforcing symmetry or adding quiet grandeur.
Designed for Today’s Interiors
The Orac Art Deco Collection provides architects, interior designers and designaware homeowners with the tools to speak the language of Art Deco in a contemporary way, from understated elegance to expressive luxury. By combining proportion, rhythm, and materiality, the collection enables spaces to retain a strong architectural identity while leaving room for personal interpretation.
