Agua is a four-generation family business, specialising in technical soft fabrics and faux leathers that balance form with function. All its upholstery fabrics are highly durable, fire retardant, waterproof, stain-resistant and anti-microbial.
Agua’s first waterproof and fire-retardant upholstery collection was launched in 2004, and it now has an extensive range of over 36 collections and over 1000 different fabric choices. From all the brand’s years of experience it understands the needs and requirements of performance fabrics in demanding environments.
Agua always prioritises texture and softness. It does this without sacrificing technical ability, ensuring that each collection it produces performs as well as it looks. The brand’s latest fabric is no different.
Oruga is a textured chenille that combines a sumptuous, velvet-like texture with Agua’s usual performance qualities. It is extraordinarily soft, yet has all the ability of the world’s best technical fabrics. One of Agua’s thicker fabrics, Oruga has a dense handle and a soft, hand-woven look, giving it an opulence that most performance fabrics don’t have. It takes colour especially well, coming in a range of shades from deep blues through to vibrant oranges and greens. Its dual weave allows for subtle colour variation in the warp and weft, giving the fabric an attractive sense of depth.
Oruga is fire retardant to Crib 5, stain-resistant, waterproof and anti-microbial. It also has a Martindale abrasion rating of 100,000, which is very rare for a textured and soft chenille. Essentially, it means it’s a very hard-wearing fabric, perfect for the commercial market including hospitality, healthcare, cruise, workplace and more.
