Stanneylands Hotel by DV8 Design

This month we are focusing on hospitality by taking a look at projects that bring new, innovative and creative ideas into the sector.

Designed by DV8 Designs, the creative overhaul of Stanneylands Hotel was a complete reconfiguration of the venue which included every customer touch point, from the arrival to departure.

DV8-Design-Stanneylands-3The project involved the redevelopment and renovation of the high profile venue in Wilmslow. Having previously been in receivership and in a somewhat uncared for state for many years, the new owners vision was a major repositioning project to restore this former Cheshire Institution.  They reopened as a contemporary classic British food and dining destination with exceptional event space and 52 restyled guestrooms – Country house meets City chic…

The aim of the design was to bring to life the brand values for the venue: Best of British, Cheshire Classic (with a twist), ensuring that the venue was sympathetically restored to its former glory whilst ensuring it was relevant to today and in the future, by adding timeless but contemporary design. Inspired by this brief and the history of the venue, an earthy colour scheme with splashes of mauve, purple and green hues were chosen both to protect the legacy and also to aid the customer journey throughout.

Rustic and fantastically British, the newly named casual dining & drinking venue, ‘Tap & Pantry’ offers a bric-a-brac feel whilst keeping a sense of sophistication with modern lighting allowing customers an intimate dining experience.

The first floor holds the large event room, ‘The State Room’, and the newly created and designed private meeting & dining suite as well as some of the refurbished bedrooms. These rooms include 3 bridal suites, 6 boutique rooms along with standard bedrooms.

As well as internal works, the grounds have been reconfigured and totally re-imagined. This ensures that the gardens and terraces now provide an extension in which to dine and drink at the venue. These works improved the overall appearance of the external faces of the house and gives a grander entrance leading up the driveway. When one arrives at The Stanneylands, there is an immediate sense that this is a Cheshire country house with a twist.

BCFA members PS Interiors and Wilton Carpets supplied this project.
