A Night with Telegraph Furniture: The Story Behind King Street Townhouse

 

 

 

Over a glass of prosecco, and in the company of Manchester colleagues and peers, guests will hear directly from the operator, designer and supplier behind the project.

 

Moderated by Alys Bryan, Editorial Director of Design Insider, the panel will share first-hand insight into how the hotel’s interiors were shaped, developed and delivered.

For designers, the value lies in hearing how each expert contributed to the finished spaces: how the operator’s ambitions and guest requirements informed the brief, how the designer created and protected their creative vision, and how Telegraph’s Furniture expertise helped translate ideas into beautiful and commercially effective solutions.

 

King Street Townhouse offers a rich case study in best practise collaboration. EPR Architects developed a design vision that refreshed the hotel while respecting its heritage, and Telegraph Furniture worked closely with the project team to deliver bespoke furniture across the guest bedrooms, mezzanine, sixth-floor function space and outdoor terrace. Compact bedroom footprints, flexible event spaces and Manchester’s outdoor climate all required considered decisions around comfort, adaptability, materials and long-term performance.

 

The evening will explore how those decisions were made, including where to invest, how to value engineer without compromising design intent, and how to build supplier relationships that support both creativity and commercial reality. Guests will take away practical insight into managing project partnerships, identifying the right expertise at the right stage, and making specification decisions that help bring a design vision to life.

 

Because the event takes place within King Street Townhouse itself, guests will also have the opportunity to tour the project and experience the spaces at the centre of the conversation. From bedrooms designed to make compact spaces feel generous, to a sixth-floor event space created for weddings, corporate functions and celebrations, the tour will bring the discussion to life through the details, furniture and atmosphere of the completed venue.
