Dynamic Contract Furniture has completed a bespoke outdoor furniture installation for Drift Bar and Kitchen in Brighton, positioned beside the Brighton i360 tower.⁠
⁠
Designed for a coastal hospitality setting, the project included solid timber outdoor dining tables, bespoke sofas, lounge chairs and weather suitable cushions, all manufactured to support durability, comfort and long-term performance.⁠
⁠
The terrace furniture was created to withstand wind, salt air and seasonal weather conditions, while maintaining a seamless visual connection between the restaurant`s indoor and outdoor spaces.⁠
⁠
The result is a robust and welcoming terrace environment that enhances the seafront dining experience and supports continuous commercial use throughout the year.⁠

The day after the launch, Design Insider returned to Halkyn’s London studio to sit down with Jonathan Aeberhard and the wider team.

Following an evening of celebration, the conversation turned to what sits behind the new identity: the heritage of Cheng Chung Design, the opportunity of a London base, and the studio’s ambition to shape hospitality projects through story, place and experience.

Jonathan Aeberhard shared: “CCD London is not CCD London. It’s Halkyn, because we’re cousins. We’re part of the family, we share the DNA and the characteristics, but a cousin can be quite different to a direct daughter or son.”

From global capability to local relationships, the interview explores what Halkyn brings to London, and the world.

THDP has completed the transformation of the former Dom Pedro Vilamoura Hotel into the newly opened Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve.⁠
⁠
Delivered in collaboration with DETAILS, the project repositions the property as one of the Algarve`s latest upscale hospitality destinations, with a redesign spanning guest rooms, suites, public areas, food and beverage outlets, wellness spaces and landscaped outdoor areas.⁠
⁠
Rooted in Portugal`s artisanal traditions, coastal landscape and architectural identity, THDP`s design brings together handcrafted azulejo tiles, woven natural materials, warm earthy tones and refined contemporary detailing.⁠
⁠
Nicholas Hickson, Co-Founder of THDP and lead designer, said:⁠
⁠
"Hyatt Regency Vilamoura represents a considered balance between modernity and tradition. The aim was to create a hotel that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to its location."⁠
⁠
The completed transformation includes 257 redesigned guest rooms and suites, a new lobby and arrival experience, reimagined dining and social spaces developed with Streetsense, enhanced spa and fitness areas, an improved pool deck and gardens.⁠
⁠
With its emphasis on material authenticity, long-term performance and a strong sense of place, the project establishes a new benchmark for contemporary resort design in Vilamoura.⁠
