25 February | 13:15–14:00 | Workspace Design Show

Designing a New VMO2 – The Office as a Catalyst for Inclusion During Transformation

Often, when we chair panel discussions about workplace projects, we are discovering them in real time alongside the audience. This one feels a little different.

Having toured the new Virgin Media O2 workplace, we can confidently say this project sets a new benchmark for inclusive workplace design!

Join our Editorial Director, Alys Bryan, as she guides a conversation between Rod Hogg, Director of Property, and Megan Dobstaff, Design Principal at Gensler, as they unpack the decisions, touchpoints and strategic thinking behind a workplace shaped by merger, post-pandemic change and evolving expectations of the office.

From Paddington to people strategy, from inclusion in theory to inclusion in practice, this is a conversation full of insight you will want to take back to your own projects.

Come to the show. Join the discussion!

What does a genuinely low-carbon office retrofit look like in practice?

The transformation of 5 New Street Square for Landsec, designed by Bennetts Associates, offers a compelling answer. Originally completed in 2008, the central London building has now been reimagined as a high-performing, contemporary workplace, proving that deep retrofit can deliver both reduced carbon impact and improved occupant wellbeing.

Rather than replacing what already worked, the project prioritised retention and reuse: upgrading building services, transitioning to all-electric systems, and extending the life of existing infrastructure to minimise upfront carbon.

The result is a future-ready office on track for a NABERS 4.5-star rating, alongside BREEAM Excellent and an EPC B.
