Hotel du Vin in Stratford with Distinction Group

In the spring of 2018, Hotel du Vin added another jewel to its crown in the form of a new location in Stratford-upon-Avon. And in the short time it has been open, the hotel has proven to be an asset to the historical town.

In little over a year, Hotel du Vin has become the tenth most favoured place to stay out of thirty hotels in Stratford. Distinction Group was tasked with manufacturing all of the casegoods and upholstery for the bedrooms of this mid-sized boutique hotel.

Hotel du Vin is found in the north of rambling Stratford-upon-Avon’s town centre. It is ideally located less than two-minutes’ walk to the main shopping streets and 10 minutes’ walk to the famed Royal Shakespeare Theatres.

Situated amongst the culture and creativity of Stratford’s heritage town, the design intent for this boutique development aimed to pay homage to its historical surroundings whilst adding a modern and stylish edge.

Having worked with Frasers Hospitality many times in the past, Distinction Group were very excited to be awarded this new development after Fraser’s acquisition of Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin brands.

Hotel Du Vin engaged Distinction early on in the process, once the final interior design had been signed off. During the process, Distinction carefully engineered each product to ensure its suitability for the contract market, whilst maintaining the importance of the design’s aesthetic.

The design included luxurious dark woods and tactile fabrics and fittings punctuated with gold accents, representing an exciting challenge. Rich jewel tones added an element of romance to the contemporary, trendy rooms of midnight blue and charcoal grey, juxtaposed with earthy browns and forest greens.

Luxurious chaise longues in plush velvet hues provide additional comfort within the warm and moody rooms, offering both style and substance in the form of an extendable sofa bed. It is the wall fixed velveteen headboards, though, that are the real show stoppers across the 46 rooms and suites.
