MOON Launch their Donegal Collection at Clerkenwell Design Week

Since their establishment in 1837, Moon has perfected the art of textile manufacturing, creating fine woolen fabrics for apparel and interiors with a single-site process that ensures ethical and high-quality production. During Clerkenwell Design Week Moon launched Donegal, a fabric rich in history and craftsmanship.

Originating from the County Donegal region of Ireland, it is characterized by its distinctive flecks of colour. The fabric is traditionally woven from a variety of yarns of different thicknesses and colours, creating a unique and textured appearance that is both visually appealing and durable.

The Moon Donegal collection combines Donegal type yarns woven together with Shetland yarns to create our very own take on the traditional whilst still capturing the timeless charm of the original. Made from pure wool, the fabrics are designed to be practical as well as beautiful, offering a sophisticated and elegant choice for creating warm and stylish interiors.

The Donegal Collection’s colour palette is inspired by the earthy tones and soft hues found in the rugged landscapes of Donegal, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Scottish Highlands. It includes shades of moss green, heather purple, and peat brown with distinctive flecks of colour reminiscent of ‘Donegal Tweed’.
