Bjelin projects generating buzz across the US

Four recent Bjelin projects in the United States have sparked interest across the industry – from media and designers to contractors and installers – highlighting how thoughtfully designed interiors use flooring to shape atmosphere, identity and long-term performance.

Swedish flooring producer, Bjelin, develops, manufactures and sells a broad range of flooring products incorporating patented technologies by sister company Välinge Innovation – the inventor of the click floor.

The projects – all featuring Woodura flooring – span a diverse range of styles and settings, from a tiny house to two restaurants and an office. In the characterful tiny house in Upstate New York, light ash flooring enhances the sense of openness; bold new walnut-clad interiors shape 1587 Prime steakhouse – owned by NFL superstars Travis Kelce (also known for his engagement to Taylor Swift) and Patrick Mahomes; XL-sized grey planks refine the office environment in the iconic Chrysler Building; and modern herringbone flooring creates a sophisticated and visually engaging atmosphere at Dogwood Southern Table and Bar.

Despite their different styles and settings, these spaces share a common design approach. Bjelin’s Head of Design, Hannes Boman, explains that the strong response reflects a broader narrative. “From a design perspective, all these projects tell the same story,” he says. “The flooring creates environments that feel both reassuring and elegant, while delivering timeless design and technical performance that will last for generations.”

“The buzz around these projects is incredible, reaching far beyond media and the A&D community to contractors and installers,” says US Marketing Director, Kelly Owens. “It’s encouraging to see that level of interest across the whole design journey.”

The projects stand out for their holistic interior thinking. “They showcase beautiful, well-considered environments where the full interior concept has been carefully developed,” says Hannes Boman. “Our floors form an essential part of the canvas that builds the feeling each space aims to convey.”

From expressive walnut tones to light Scandinavian-inspired interiors, the projects demonstrate how flooring often becomes the first design statement in a space – setting the tone for environments that feel experiential, welcoming and sophisticated.
