Boss – Amelia WingBack

Since 2019, the company has been celebrating the achievement of women in all fields by naming key new furniture products after women who have made an impact including Florence Nightingale, Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart and Paloma Picasso.

“It’s a relatively small gesture but an important one, nonetheless. Women have been critical to the success of Boss Design over the last 40 years, and we are paying tribute to them on International Women’s Day. I have no doubt that women will play a huge role in our future as well,” says Brian Murray, Chairman and Founder of the Boss Design Group.

INNOVATIVE, CREATIVE AND INSPIRING

The Boss Design portfolio increasingly pays homage to women who have defied gender discrimination and changed society. The bestselling Amelia wingback chair honours the aviator Amelia Earhart, while Florence Nightingale’s astounding contributions to nursing and medicine are recognised in the refined comfort of the Flo lounge collection.

Boss – Rosa Lounge Collection

The civil rights activist Rosa Parks is celebrated through the Rosa lounge set, and the exquisite Paloma armchair pays tribute to the fashion designer Paloma Picasso. Meanwhile, our sustainability focussed task chair Sia is named after Sia Furler, singer with Zero Seven – our creative director’s favourite band.

CONTINUING TO RECOGNISE LEADING WOMEN

The convention of naming key lines after inspiring women will continue at Boss Design for the foreseeable future. Due for release later this year, the comfort-driven focus pod Frida will recognise the surrealist painter, Frida Kahlo. Accompanying the pod, Boss Design will also unveil Lina, an exquisitely minimalist laptop table that celebrates the Brazilian modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi.
