Camira’s showroom is relocating to Clerkenwell’s Brewhouse Yard

A prime ground floor retail location in the heart of Clerkenwell EC1 is now home to a brand new showroom space for textile innovator, Camira, which promises to provide a dedicated, user-focused textile resource for fabric specifiers.

The fabric specialists opened their first showroom in 2012 in Britton Street near Farringdon, together with flooring company, and BCFA member Ege Carpets, and have now moved to new premises as sole occupant (as a dedicated fabric showroom) to be closer to both their A&D clients and furniture professionals who will now be on their very doorstep. The new showroom, which fills the entire ground floor of the Poppy Building in the pedestrianised Brewhouse Yard, is designed to embody the company’s “Style with Substance” strapline, showcasing textile elegance while reflecting the company’s manufacturing heritage.

The new space is unapologetic in its use of dramatic large scale fabric displays to present the unique products the company manufactures and maximise visual impact through the floor to ceiling glass façade of the building. An open mezzanine overlooks the main showroom, the centrepiece of which is an ingeniously engineered collaboration counter using a reclaimed warp beam from Camira’s Huddersfield textile manufacturing operation.

The original design brief for Camira’s showroom was interpreted by Jenny Hill of Ingo Interiors in Liverpool and fit-out was handled by Manchester based Spatial Office Environments. The lighting concept, essential for textile colour representation, was conceived by the UK arm of Italian company Forma Lighting using the latest motorised Motolux lighting elements to transform the overall look into a dynamic retail space.

Camira’s Director of UK Sales Abdul Ali commented;

“We’re thrilled to be moving into such a fantastic new location which will make it so much more convenient for customers to be able to access our full range of fabrics, whether it’s just to pick up a few samples or develop and discuss projects with our own design team. Ingo Interiors and Spatial have done a great job in translating and then realising our concept into a flexible, functional but above all visually stunning showroom to give us a new permanent home in Brewhouse Yard.”

The Camira showroom is open from 9.30 to 5.30pm daily.
