Studio Moren has reimagined three adjoining Georgian townhouses to create the 43-key Bertrand’s Townhouse for SAV Group, a boutique hotel that balances careful restoration with refined contemporary design.

Inspired by Bloomsbury’s rich literary and intellectual heritage, the interiors layer texture, craft and warm tonal palettes to create an atmosphere of considered domesticity rather than overt theme.

As David Harte, Partner and Head of Interior Design at Studio Moren, explains: “The design… is grounded in an understanding of the building’s architecture and its original townhouse proportions.”

With discreet architectural interventions, energy-efficient technologies and deep respect for the Georgian fabric, Bertrand’s Townhouse offers a calm, characterful retreat in the heart of London.

📣 We are delighted to share that Six Senses London opened their doors yesterday, marking the brand’s first UK destination! 📣

Marking the brand’s first UK destination, the 109-key hotel at The Whiteley brings Six Senses’ wellbeing-led philosophy into the heart of West London, introducing a slower, more restorative rhythm to the city.

Designed by AvroKO in collaboration with EPR Architects, the hotel blends contemporary interiors with classical and Art Deco references, anchored by a dramatic retained iron staircase inspired by La Scala.

With a team of over 300 hospitality professionals, the opening signals a major new chapter for Queensway and urban luxury hospitality.

Working with Six Senses team, we`ve had the pleasure of coving this brand new, industry leading, project in Commercial Interiors UK`s 2026 Directory - link in our bio!

Jim Biddulph reports from this year’s Surface Design Show and one theme stood out above all others: circularity.

From eggshell and oyster-shell composites to denim boards, plastic-note panels and cork reimagined at architectural scale, the aisles at the Islington Business Design Centre revealed a material culture shifting decisively towards reuse, regeneration and recovery.

As Jim explores, circular production is no longer a sidebar to innovation, it is shaping the aesthetic, technical and ethical direction of surface design.

Plans have been approved by Dacorum Borough Council for a carefully designed programme of improvements to the Grade II-listed country house hotel, set within 35 acres of historic parkland on the edge of the Chilterns National Landscape.

Designed by Studio Moren, the scheme replaces temporary structures with permanent, high-quality buildings, introduces sensitively designed new guest accommodation and enhances events and leisure facilities, all while safeguarding the manor’s architectural and landscape significance.

As Herbert Lui, Partner at Studio Moren, explains:

“Our ambition from the outset has been to work with that inheritance rather than compete with it.”
