Transforming Workspaces: Umbrella and Wagstaff Bring Workplace Wellness to Clerkenwell Design Week 2025
From 20 – 22 May, Umbrella Furniture and Wagstaff’s central Clerkenwell showroom will transform into a sanctuary for workplace well-being. Discover the latest products and exciting brands leading the way in workplace design and focusing on embracing wellness, with a full showroom programme of wellness focused activities to take part in.
This central Clerkenwell showroom welcomes eight brands as part of Umbrella+Friends each unveiling new and innovative products, plus a panel debate focusing on biophilia and colour in the workplace, and wellness-focused activities including puppy therapy and massage sessions throughout the festival. Culminating with an evening of drinks, nibbles and networking, this renowned Brewhouse Yard showroom is a key destination – one not to be missed this CDW.
Umbrella + Friends
‘Umbrella + Friends’ celebrates another year partnering with eight thoughtfully selected brands that are leading the way in furniture design, these include; Piaval, Sancal, Treku, Wendelbo, Midj, New Works, Extremis, along with an architectural partner T6.
Prestigious Italian brand, Piaval will be displaying pieces that drive their craftmanship, innovation from technological research and collaborations with renowned international designers by displaying a selection of their latest products. These include Trench side chair mod, Trench armchair mod, Apèro table and Moka side chair mod.
Born under the Spanish sun, Sancal will be displaying a range of products that fully evoke the brand’s identity: passionate, open, joyful yet humble. These products include, Bold table, Link sofa, Vibe armchair and Suricata desk.
International brand of contemporary furniture, Treku will be highlighting their Leiho table system and AuraOpen Frame sideboard, alongside other key products in their collections. As designers, manufacturers and exporters of contemporary furniture across more than 50 countries around the world, Treku ensure the best quality and service.
Wendelbo, a company made from six decades and three generations has formed long lasting collaborations with internation designers, to create quality collections. The collections that will be on display include, the Duvet lounge chair, Boketto Mod and Circle occasional.
Midj are creators of unique collections to furnish contemporary environments forming collections that meet the needs of both public and private spaces. On display will be a range of products that includes the Amelie collection, Plisse collection, Mys collection and the Bookcase Siena.
Formed from the desire to establish a design house where design comes to life with care and intent, New Works set out to define a curated collection of elevated, yet accessible objects for living. On display at the showroom will be a mixture of their collections, to inspire and evoke interest in visitors.
Strong-willed and Belgian-based, Extremis makes inspiring design furniture that merges necessity and quality to spark interactions that matter. With a clear vision and mission to offer more than just furniture, Extremis will be displaying their latest collections Manille and Bistroo. Both collections blend practicality, design and joy.
T6 transforms spaces with cutting-edge architectural film, offering a vast range of finishes – whether refreshing interiors or reimagining exteriors, bringing surfaces to life with style and efficiency.
Panel Talk
Join us for our dedicated CPD panel talk, exploring ‘The Importance of Colour and Biophilia in the Workplace’. Chaired by Design Insider’s Alys Byran, panellists Emma Bestley, Co-Founder and creative partner at YesColour, Dirk Wynants, Founder and owner at Extremis, Pål Eid-Hviding, Marketing Manager at Fora Form and Sam McCarthy, Head of Major projects at Plantplan. Focusing on embracing wellness this panel talk will give in-depth insight into how biophilia and colour can play a vital part in the future of design, particularly in the workplace.

Showroom Activations
Focusing on being a sanctuary for workplace wellness, Umbrella Furniture will be putting on a spread of well-being activations through the 3-day event.
Brewhouse Yard Hub dedicated trail
The showrooms of Brewhouse Yard are joining forces to launch the Brewhouse Yard Hub — a curated showroom trail that involves a day of talks, experiences, and networking on Wednesday 21 May.
The trail begins 9.00am at Umbrella + Friends for a Wellness Breakfast, before heading to Davison Highley at 9:30am for “Beyond Selective Sustainability: A Holistic Approach to Sustainable Design”. At 11:00am, Interstuhl talk “Agile and Home Working: Is Our Flexibility Enhancing or Harming Wellbeing?” invites discussions on the long-term impacts of hybrid working. The afternoon kicks off at 2:00pm at Forma 5 for Jamon carving and rooftop drinks, before 3pm at Sedua where workplace strategist Hannah Nardini discusses “Return to Work Challenges”. At 4:00pm, Camira invites guests for an informal drinks and canapés reception to unwind and mingle before the day returns full circle at 6:00pm to Umbrella + Friends for a closing session on “The Importance of Colour and Biophilia in the Workplace”, highlighting how sensory design fosters wellbeing and creativity. To conclude the day, William Hands will host an Invite-Only Evening Drinks reception at 7:00pm, offering a relaxed setting for deeper conversations and connections.

Relax, reset, and recharge. Our friends at Massage Angels, who have an unrivalled 18 years’ experience of calming and effective treatment, will be offering their signature treatments on-site. Whether you need a quick tension release or a deeper moment of calm, their expert therapists will bring you a much-needed burst of wellness to help you power through the day.

Puppy Therapy
Sometimes, the best therapy comes on four legs. Escape the hustle of CDW with our beloved daily puppy therapy sessions. Stop by the Umbrella + Friends showroom to cuddle, play, and de-stress with a guaranteed mood-booster and a favourite for visitors every year.

Evening drinks
Join Umbrella for an evening of drinks, music, and great company. It will be an unforgettable closing party that will wrap up Clerkenwell Design Week in style. DJ Thee KC Leigh will be setting the tone by creating the perfect atmosphere to celebrate another successful CDW. It will be a chance to connect and unwind, whilst enjoying an evening of live entertainment surrounded by the curated furniture pieces of Umbrella and Friends. The event will present itself as the finale to the week, ending Clerkenwell 2025 on a high note.
