Trending! Newmor Wallcoverings Unveils their 2025 Predictions
At Design Insider, we’ve been eagerly waiting for Newmor Wallcoverings’ annual trend forecast, a staple in the commercial interiors calendar that never fails to inspire, and we’re delighted to share it with you today!
We spoke with Rose Campbell, Head of Design and Marketing at Newmor, to hear more about her much-anticipated 2025 report. Rose revealed:
“For 2025, I’ve identified five key trends, each distinct yet connected by overarching themes of timeless design, nostalgia, personalisation, and creating memorable spaces. As commercial interiors continue to evolve, the focus is on crafting unique, inviting environments where people genuinely want to spend their time.”
So, lets dive in:
Fair Isle
Taking inspiration from the UK’s most remote inhabited island, Fair Isle encapsulates the beauty of artisan craftsmanship and embraces a slower pace of life. Layered textures and organic patterns evoke a sense of calm and wellbeing, connecting us with the natural world.
Campbell explains:
“Fair Isle is inspired by nature, tradition, and handmade craftsmanship—elements that bring a reassuring, grounding quality to interiors. The colour palette draws from the island’s lush landscape set against the North Sea, with tones of teal, sage, seafoam, stone, and fern”.
1 Tweel TWEE01,2 Print Pattern Archive – Vintage Verdure, 3John Morris – Morris Sage, 4 Marmor MAR006, 5John Morris – Clash of the Tartans Bracken, 6 Herringbone HRB110, 7Meadow MEA004
You can see the deep appreciation of flora and fauna in Newmor’s ‘Vintage Verdure’ design, by Print Pattern Archive as it captures this trend beautifully with its biophilic imagery and woven emboss. ‘Meadow’ and ‘Marmor’ designs reflect land and seascapes, while ‘Clash of the Tartans’ and ‘Morris’ channel heritage craftsmanship.
Tequila Sunrise
Vibrant and full of contrast, Tequila Sunrise is an exploration of opposites—sour versus sweet, elegant yet exotic. This trend plays with saturated hues and varied textures to spark intrigue, further enhanced by dynamic lighting effects.
Campbell says:
“Tequila Sunrise celebrates creative energy. It plays with bold, contrasting colours and textures to create truly captivating interiors that feel both luxurious and playful. The colour palette is an enticing mix of bold, bittersweet hues. Key colours include oxblood, violet, chartreuse, mustard, and blush.”
1 Brushed Steel BST043,2 Blooming Marvellous Ombre – Sunrise, 3 Iona Crawford – Cuvee Rose, 4 Mantelito MLT007, 5 Blooming Marvellous Palm – Spice, 6 Folia FOL004, 7 John Morris Sofishticated – Violet
Newmor’s new ‘Folia’ provides an alluring mix of warm hues, while ‘Palm’ and ‘Mantelito’ add pattern and vibrancy. The citrus tones of ‘Brushed Steel’ provides an energetic lift, and Iona Crawford’s ‘Curvee Rose’ offers a neon glow that can elevate any space.
Earthenware
Like handcrafted pottery, the Earthenware trend is soft, elegant, and grounding. Featuring neutral palettes and rounded forms, it fosters calm and restful environments. Intricate, imperfect textures are layered to create depth and a sense of tactile luxury.
Campbell notes:
“Earthenware is all about natural materials and a return to simplicity. These warm, earthy tones and textures create spaces where people can truly relax and feel at ease. Inspired by the natural pigments found in ceramics, this beautiful palette is warm and inviting. Key colours include cream, sand, cognac, mocha, and chocolate”.
Tanner TAN007, 2 Cedar – Birch CED003, 3 Verde VER006, 4 Raffia RAF006, 5 Marmor MAR004, 6 Sanctuary – Quartz,7 Java JAV009
‘Quartz’ from Newmor’s award winning Sanctuary Collection showcases earthy tones and intricate details, while their ‘Raffia,’ ‘Verde,’ and ‘Tanner’ designs introduce warmth and tactility through rich, textured embossing.
Dark Decadence
Refined and theatrical, Dark Decadence embraces moody, immersive spaces that exude sophistication. Craftsmanship plays a central role, with rich materials such as velvet, burnished metals, and cut-glass adding layers of interest. Feature ceilings become a statement piece within these dramatic interiors, enhancing the moody colour drenched spaces.
Campbell comments:
“Dark Decadence is all about indulgence and mystery. These deep, luxurious tones and opulent textures create spaces that are both intimate and breathtaking. Sumptuous jewel tones paired with burnished metals create an opulent yet intimate ambiance. Key colours include deep plum, oxblood, navy, and forest green”.
1 Shagreen SHA006, 2Trompe L’oeil Lambris – Peacock, 3 Manhattan MAN006, 4 Trompe L’oeil Menagerie – Woodland, 5 Print Pattern Archive – Mythical Dynasty, 6 Carrara CAR006, 7 Panthera PAN005
The newly launched ‘Shagreen’ and ‘Panthera’ designs invite closer inspection, as the clever use of texture and pattern lift the designs to new heights. Newmor’s ‘Lambris,’ ‘Menagerie,’ and ‘Manhattan’ channel the timeless elegance of gentlemen’s clubs. And ‘Mythical Dynasty’ by Print Pattern Archive would make a striking feature ceiling, adding to the sense of drama.
Expressionist
The final 2025 trend, Expressionist, is all about personalisation—embracing nostalgia, eclecticism, and individuality. Whether through statement pieces, curated collections, or bold pattern clashes, this trend celebrates spaces with a strong sense of place and emotional resonance.
Rose explains:
“This trend is all about self-expression. You can make a statement, by layering colours and textures in ways that feel personal and meaningful to you. The dynamic mix of bright hues are balanced with grounding neutrals. Key colours include subdued brights, bold pops, and steadying tones of stone and clay”.
1 Panthera PAN001, 2 Patternistas Diamonds – Dado Pink, 3 Ptolemy Mann – Ikat Pinstripe, 4 John Morris Heron Sent – Stone, 5 Mid-Century Modern – Mod Damask Classic, 6 Get Arty – Pollock, 7 Ptolemy Mann – Chroma Cyan Yellow
Newmor designs include their new ‘Panthera’ in the most subtle neutral, ‘Diamonds’ by the Patternistas, a colourful ‘Ikat Pinstripe’ designed by Ptolemy Mann, ‘Heron Sent’ from the John Morris Collection. Finally, Newmor’s bold ‘Mod Damask Classic’ and ‘Get Arty Pollock’ designs are contrasted with the subtlety of ‘Chroma Cyan Yellow’ by Ptolemy Mann.
Newmor’s 2025 trend forecast once again sets the stage for the future of commercial interiors, offering inspiration and innovation for designers seeking to craft memorable spaces in the year ahead. You can download your copy here.
