Blacksheep, the award winning design agency, have revealed their latest collaboration working with Rocket Leisure, the team behind Venn Street and Northcote Records, to launch a brand new live music bar and entertainment space in the heart of Shoreditch. Old Street Records will be reflective of the eclectic streets it inhabits with a varied programme of soul, funk, jazz and rock to classic pop, along with an extensive cocktail list and sourdough thin crust pizzas.

Split over two floors and with a capacity of over 300, the design takes inspiration from New York record stores, elevated with rich details; a copper bar and diamond stitched leather booths.  The back bar, forming a central feature, is stacked with a variety of vinyl to purchase from labels like Fiction Records and Caroline International.  Exposed brickwork, dark timbers and soft leather sofas add warmth to the space, somewhere to unwind taking in a performance from an emerging artist or renowned DJ on the main stage, with neon signage providing a backdrop.

Downstairs, lighting strips overhead synced to the music create a dynamic interrelationship between the space and the design.  Leather seating is encased around steel mesh screens adding an industrial feel.  Darker, with rough textured walls and a second stage, it’s a place to party.Blacksheep_OldStreetRecords_08
