Hill Cross Furniture complete unique project for Wild Ink, NYC

Robert Angell Design Studio approached Hill Cross Furniture, a leading international contract furniture supplier to design and manufacture unique furniture for Wild Ink located in New York City.

Working closely with the design studio, Hill Cross Furniture supplied bespoke furniture that incorporated a mix of solid wood, brass and rattan detailing. Throughout the project prototyping and regular design consultations were utilised to ensure that the design intent was held from start to finish.

Wild Ink, Located in Hudson Yards, New York City is the first international venue for London-based hospitality group ‘rhubarb’, the brand that brought Vivi to Centre Point in London.  With Executive Chef Peter Jin at the helm, Wild Ink is an Asian-Inspired restaurant with an international approach. Based on a simple concept around a Chefs Travels, the food draws on the inspiring locations visited to create new and exciting dishes.

Bespoke banquette seating snakes its way through and around the main dining space, upholstered in a UK embossed leather and black rattan to give an authentic Asian feel. Bamboo poles cover the ceiling and teak timber screens blend East with West creating opulent tones and an environment that makes diners return time and time again.

With views of Hudson Yard’s iconic sculpture ‘the Vessel’, an extraordinary staircase that is meant to be climbed. It’s a truly inspiring space and already making a name for itself in the world of hospitality.
