Newhey: The Curio Collection

Newhey Carpets are a leading British manufacturer of contract carpets for the hotel, leisure and entertainment sectors. Newhey has recently launched a new product line, Curio. The collection is an intriguing mix of a contemporary Ikat-like diamond pattern and a vintage look. Ikat weaving has a long history and a rich cultural heritage. It is perfectly imperfect. Inspired by textiles that celebrate all that is natural and authentic, this look sits comfortably in both traditional and contemporary interiors; naïvely simple yet elegant.

Curio is the best of both worlds; it gives a sense of the handmade through its styling and is available from stock. Adrian, one of Newhey’s experienced designers add:

“Its understated ornament adds interest but its scale doesn’t dominate and will look great in a variety of installations; restaurants, bars and public areas. I combined natural undyed and dyed yarns to give an overall neutral with a hint of jewel-toned colour.”

Made using Colortec technology at 4m wide and in 8 easy-to-use colours, Curio is ideal for heavy commercial use. Sustainability is incredibly important to Newhey and its clients. It is built into every carpet they create, including the new Curio collection. Evobac is a super-sustainable backing material made from 100% recycled plastic and applied using the world’s first hot melt carpet backing line. Each year it prevents 20 tonnes of plastic bottles going to landfill.
