Pooky, the beloved decorative lighting brand known for its joyful design, exceptional quality, and accessible pricing, launched Pooky Projects last year – a dedicated division created to support hospitality, F&B, commercial, and large-scale developments with tailored lighting solutions.

Founded in 2014 by serial entrepreneur Rohan Blacker, Pooky has grown from a direct-to-consumer lighting brand into a trusted partner for interior designers and trade professionals worldwide. In 2024 – its 10th anniversary year – the company successfully launched in the United States, expanding its footprint across four showrooms in London, Leeds, the Cotswolds, and New York.

“Pooky was founded with a simple belief: lighting should be beautiful, characterful and never boring. We set out to create decorative pieces with personality – thoughtfully made, fairly priced, and full of charm.

What started as a direct-to-consumer brand known for eclectic lamps and signature lampshades has grown into one of the UK’s best-loved independent lighting brands. Over the past couple of years, that growth has accelerated. We’ve expanded our collections, strengthened our online presence, opened our flagship showroom to bring the brand to life in person, and launched in the USA – where we’ve been met with an incredibly enthusiastic response.

As more interior designers, hoteliers and developers began coming to us for larger-scale projects, it became clear that this side of the business deserved its own dedicated focus. That natural evolution led to the launch of Pooky Projects – our commercial division, built to bring Pooky personality to spaces on a bigger stage.”

A New Chapter: Pooky Projects

Pooky Projects formalises the company’s longstanding expertise in large-volume and fully customised lighting. The division offers three distinct pathways to suit every scale, style, and budget:

• Existing (Off-the-Shelf): Thousands of ready-made SKU combinations with 3–5 day delivery for in-stock items. Large-volume production available with 8–12 week lead times and no minimum order quantity on made-to-order existing designs.
• Semi-Bespoke: An ideal middle ground – starting with an existing Pooky product and adjusting colours, finishes, materials, or components. MOQs from 100–200 units with approximately 15–20% pricing uplift and rapid feasibility checks within 1–2 days. Lead time: 12–20 weeks.
• Bespoke Fully: custom lighting created from scratch in collaboration with Pooky’s Design Director, from first sketch and CAD to samples and final manufacturing. Lead time: 20–24 weeks.

The division is supported by a dedicated project manager and an in-house technical team offering wiring guidance, certification advice, and product suitability insights. All Pooky products (excluding bulbs) come with a five-year guarantee, and for semi-bespoke orders, the company holds 5–10% spare units at no extra cost to safeguard installation and long-term maintenance. Pooky products meet both UL and CE certification standards and can be supplied with custom plug and voltage options for international projects.

• Rechargeable Innovation: Pooky’s Genesis cell offers warm 2700K light for around 15 hours on a five-hour charge, with magnetic bases, easy swaps, and multi-lamp remote control. Charging trolleys arrive early 2027.
