Sustainable frames from Larson-Juhl

Larson-Juhl’s range of sustainable mouldings was recently expanded with the arrival of Geneva, which joins a number of other very popular collection of wooden frames that have environmental credentials.

The natural worn-wood simplicity of Larson Juhl’s rustic-inspired Lancaster collection, offers a way to achieve real understated style. Named after the typical woodland landscape of Lancaster County in Pennsylvania, the Lancaster series of mouldings offers a distinctly Americana touch in a complementary palette of light, medium and dark wire brushed distressed finishes.

The ‘Covered Bridge Grey’ finish is a mid-tone colour highlighted with warm brown undertones that works well as a neutral finish when surrounding colourful artworks. The ‘Split Rail Tan’ provides a traditional light Barnwood tone enhanced by silvery greys, while the ‘Amish Black’ style provides a slight glimpse of wood grain which can be seen through an aged charcoal black colouring. Each finish is available in four transitional sized profiles, with matching mountslips.

The Lancaster collection is manufactured from Swedish Pine, and is accredited by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Inspiration from the French Coast

The beautifully distressed, chipped paint finish of Larson Juhl’s Brittany collection, offers colourful layers of painted wood with a natural finish that creates a sophisticated edge to the shabby chic trend. Inspired by the colourful worn style of the homes found across the coastal town of Brittany in Northwest France, the collection brings a sense of age and history. Available in a wide range of profile depths, Brittany offers an authentic, natural layered finish with a well-rounded pallet of tones.

Its four distinctive coastal looks include the rustic ‘Sage Green’ and earthy ‘Vermillion Red’, which creates the impression of a distressed barn finish. ‘Shell White’ provides a creamy white finish ideal for alternative designs in need of lighter moulding, while ‘Charcoal Black’ features two tones of grey, a unique offering in an otherwise neutral category of mouldings. The Brittany collection is manufactured from pine, is forest friendly and accredited by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Anvil

The Anvil moulding range comprises classic mouldings which feature five different profiles in two exciting finishes – Aged Steel and Oiled Steel.  Each one has an added back edge groove which makes them simple to lock together with other profiles.

With Chain of Custody certification from the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) scheme, the Anvil range features two larger profiles in an Aged Steel finish, with a choice of a wider flat angle profile and an H-beam inspired cube moulding. The two classic mouldings can also be used as a slip.

Reflecting the industrial chic home décor trend, the Oiled Steel finish allows you to incorporate accents of reclaimed metal and raw timber into your decorative framing. With a hand-forged effect, this finish has been toned to work well with black and white photography and offers a new option to those who prefer not to use black. It is the perfect choice for mechanical drawings, steampunk art, and many other types of industrial inspired artwork.
