The initial brief was to create seating that exudes the easy-going versatility of outdoor furniture, and the idea of bringing the outdoors in. Rosa’s flowing lines and proportions were refined through an iterative prototyping process resulting in slim, sophisticated forms alongside maximum comfort and durability.

“Outdoor seating has a relaxed, flexible vibe and we wanted Rosa to exude that. We were also inspired by the minimalism of mid-century styling classic tubular chair designs. Paring back our prototypes we pushed for that functional elegance with a soft, playful feel in combination with uncompromised comfort levels,” says Ceri Lovett, Creative Director.

The tubular steel design dovetails perfectly with the latest Boss Design Sol table including Amelia Lounge, Paloma Lounge and the new table collection Joni. Rosa provides an ideal way to round off a contemporary lounge area, offering interior designers and specifiers plenty of flexibility.

ANY FABRIC, ANY COLOUR

The simple forms of Rosa’s seat and back cushions mean they can be upholstered in any fabric, and the cantilever exoskeleton can be painted any colour. By combining different textures, patterns and colours, it’s possible to craft Rosa’s look for a huge variety of settings.

“Eco leather and a black frame are an enticing combination for premium hospitality spaces, while textured wool fabrics take Rosa in a cosy, intimate direction. Light shades and smooth fabric make Rosa equally appropriate in office lobbies, breakout and work café areas,” says Mark Barrell, Design Director.

A PREMIUM FINISH

Superlative engineering has resulted in furniture with no visible fixings. The flowing lines and sculpted forms of both the Rosa chair and sofa are uninterrupted by screws or bolts, and the back section seems to float easily above the seat emphasising Rosa’s contemplative look and feel.

Nevertheless, this furniture has been designed for circularity. It is simple to disassemble and the seat and back can be easily reupholstered and the frame resprayed, extending Rosa’s longevity and lowering its carbon footprint. When the time comes, all the materials are easily separated for recycling or reuse.
