A stunning, full wall, bedroom headboard, upholstered in a faux leather fabric by Kobe UK is among the stand-out touches in a Soho apartment transformed by high end interior designer Yiannis Stylianou. The London-based owner of StudioYpsilon chose one of the BCFA member’s fabrics in almost all his installations, including the just completed private apartment in Soho, London.
With a signature colour pop style, Yiannis selected an assortment of Kobe’s fabrics for the apartment’s sitting room and master bedroom suite to create the ultimate in chic city living décor.
“I love using Kobe fabrics because of the wide variety of colours in each collection. Tendu is my signature upholstery fabric of choice and I use it in most of my designs – whether it’s to upholster a sofa or for scatter cushions, Tendu always looks fantastic!” – Yiannis Stylianou, Interior Designer.
The brief for the installation in Soho was to use pops of colour. To achieve a vibrant yet paired back scheme, Yannis adopted a muted palette of taupes and dove greys and added pops of colour – deep, rich purple being the accent shade of choice – with clever use of accessories and soft furnishings.
Kobe’s Tendu fabric was used to upholster the contemporary L-shaped sofa in the apartment’s sitting area. The basket weave design in Kobe’s ‘Tendu 8’ fabric looked perfect against the high-shine light kitchen. In addition, contemporary studded-edge stools in Kobe’s ‘Teatro 35’, a vibrant burnt orange tone added ‘colour pops’ throughout the living area.
“We’ve worked with Yiannis for several years, learning about his signature design style, which has enabled us to hand select new fabrics that have been launched for his consideration.” – Nikki Harris, sales manager at Kobe UK.
Originally a three-bedroom property, Yiannis and his team turned the apartment into a super-sized one-bedroom space, creating the ultimate sleeping quarter.
To form a focal point, the bedroom suite features a bespoke wall-to-wall length headboard, upholstered in Kobe’s ‘Novara 8’, a faux leather from Kobe’s collection. To complement, small cushions and a bedspread upholstered in Kobe’s Chacar fabric in Chacar 72 shade completed the look perfectly.
As a result of Yiannis and his company’s recent installation at the Soho apartment, he has been assigned to design all of the communal areas within the building.
Many of Kobe’s collections feature a wide range of 100% Trevira CS fabrics, regarded as the highest quality in FR, along with a selection of price conscious 100% FR polyester yarns.
