Created with longevity in mind, the latest offering is crafted using the best possible materials and manufacturing techniques to deliver versatile lighting solutions materialised through elegant engineering and contemporary finishes.

Launched in May 2021, the new season reflects the ongoing passion of Astro’s founders James Bassant and John Fearon for simple, high-quality British lighting that stands the test of time. It includes pieces for every type of project, from residential interiors to hotels and restaurants, grand entranceways to intimate outdoor terraces. Every product has been thoughtfully designed so it can be styled to suit any aesthetic.

A representation of the Astro design philosophy, the new collection takes inspiration from surrounding architecture and classic forms with refined engineering details.

Updated for the new season, the streamlined Versailles wall light based on neoclassical 1930s designs, now includes a dimmer function so that it can be used as task or ambient lighting. Intended primarily for bathrooms, it has an IP44 rating and lends an elegant symmetry to any space.

Similar in style but a new innovation, the Avignon family of wall lights are also influenced by Art Deco luminaires. Featuring a fluted front panel crafted from individual glass rods, it combines a robust, industrial-style glamour with sparkling illumination. It’s especially effective when paired with darker colour schemes where its metallic finish adds richness and allure.

Designed in Britain, each Astro luminaire begins life within a designer’s sketchbook. Taking inspiration from the world around us, every element is refined fusing form with function and durability.

The newest reader to the portfolio is The Lucca, a modern update on the classic gooseneck task light. Using a flexible matt black silicone arm, Lucca is Astro’s slimmest LED
reader to date, measuring just 25mm in diameter. The design’s slender form gives it a visual lightness that belies its extreme practicality.

Created with hospitality settings in mind, the popular Cambria range welcomes a pendant to its offering. The ultimate solution for modern, understated lighting schemes, fine details elevate it above other drum pendants thanks to a discreet metal ceiling rose, stylish braided fabric cable, and the lined polycotton fabric shade.

Contributing to the established interior wall light range, Amas and Amat, are versatile designs that echo Modernist architecture. Crafted from hardwearing ceramic, a signature Astro material, each is shaped into softly curved forms and can either be left white or painted to match any colour scheme.

A hero product from the latest edit is the Hashira collection. Its distinctive form is a dodecagon, or twelve-sided cylinder, whose crisp extruded facets elegantly catch the light. This collection has a polished, dramatic look, and casts complex shadows that subtly nod to the light’s shape. It’s most striking when used in rows or a cluster for heightened impact. Available in matt black, matt nickel, or matt gold finishes, the range includes wall lights and a pendant, plus a surface-mounted downlight.

Subtle metallic finishes and monochrome shades are key themes throughout the new season. The Cabaret wall light is a contemporary take on a classic Hollywood mirror featuring a simple bar in polished chrome or matt black, and complexion-flattering opal-glass LED lamps. Equally minimalist is the space-saving Fuse 3 reader, which turns off automatically when manoeuvred to its central resting place against the wall.

The new collection also features the highly anticipated Miura Desk USB. A compact, timeless shape with adjustable shade and built-in USB port, it is available in a combination of matt black, matt nickel or matt gold finishes for a bespoke appearance. Miura also presents a surface mounted wall light and reading light, ideal for creating a cohesive lighting scheme within hospitality environments.

For outdoor spaces, there are three new designs: Harvard, Kuro, and Myos. The Harvard lantern and pendant are modern interpretations of traditional lanterns, in a simple, linear shape and textured black finish. They add both impact and symmetry to entrances and exterior walls thanks to an elongated body.

A welcome addition to the exterior portfolio is the Kuro, Astro’s first portable, solar-powered and rechargeable outdoor light. An invaluable addition to any hotel terrace or domestic garden, this contemporary lantern is available in two sizes and blends effortlessly with any style. It can be used both outdoors and indoors thanks to an additional USB charging source.

Finally, a homage to Astro’s consistent vision to create timeless lighting with distinctive quality, the Myos is a compact, contemporary outdoor spotlight with an architectural feel. Mounted on an extendable metal ground spike, it’s hugely versatile for illuminating landscaping or adding drama to a hotel entrance.
