Astro’s new home speaks the brand’s language

“Inspiring”, “dynamic” and “progressive” are not words you would associate with many office buildings, but this is precisely what Astro Lighting have created for ‘The Astro Building’.

Astro Lighting’s inspiring new home in Harlow is more than just 86,000-sq ft of highly-efficient product handling and office space. It is also a showcase for the brand’s distinctive lighting design language.

Nichola McCann of Cann Creative worked closely with co-founders John Fearon and James Bassant as well as other members of the Astro team to ensure the building was not only lit effectively and efficiently, but reflected the core brand values. For Nichola, it was clear from the start that “due to the broad range and versatility of Astro products, Astro’s light fittings would feature predominantly within the interior design of their offices. Despite the products being marketed at the high end residential and hotel sector it was important to create an interior that strengthened Astro’s brand and was a showcase for their products within their own working environment.”

It is clear that lighting is at the heart of the building, with Astro products blended in the interior design to complement the working environment. From the staff canteen to meeting rooms to the open plan office; Astro lights feature for clients and the team to enjoy, while the overall look and feel of the building is contemporary, minimal and very much true to the brand’s ethos of elegant simplicity.

Chairman John Fearon said: “Our growing team at Astro now enjoys an interior which reflects and nurtures the company’s design-led approach and brand values. It is inspiring to be surrounded by our products, because it provides a tangible connection between our daily work and the lights we create.”
