BCFA OPEN SPRING DESIGN – PECKISH?

With the BCFA OPEN SPRING DESIGN exhibition coming up, we wanted to give you an insight into the dining options in the surrounding area. With the delicious smells of street food wafting through the air, it’s hard to know where the best places are to eat, so we have taken the time to find out for you!

Here are our favourite 6 eateries in the area;DF MexicoDF/MEXICO, 15 Hanbury St

This trendy establishment is anyone’s crash course in modern day Mexican food. Fresh, exciting and feel good, it’s not your average Tex-Mex joint! From Tacos to Burritos, you can also enjoy a punchy frozen margarita, the raspberry & hibiscus flavour is a great option if you want to try something different.

The Frog RestarauntTHE FROG RESTAURANT, 2 Ely’s Yard

This seemingly humble wooden building is concealing quite a culinary delight. Accomplished Chef, Adam Handling brings his love of Asian flavours and techniques to this top quality kitchen. Expect to be both surprised and wowed by dishes such as ‘Crab Donuts’ and ‘Burnt Piggy’. They also have a great selection of beverages that have been matched with the menu perfectly.

CabooseCABOOSE, Ely’s Yard

Caboose is a lovely converted steam train carriage and to reflect that slow, smokey journey, they serve slow smoked meat with fresh flavour combinations. Their British smokehouse is a meat-lovers heaven and prepare to be filed to the brim with delicious, mouth-watering brisket with some staple sides including deep fried mac’n’cheese! Mmmmmmm.

Cafe 1001CAFE 1001, 91 Brick Lane

Known for being open from dawn till dusk, and renowned venue for a multitude of events it also has fresh grub, made on the premises daily. Great for grabbing a quick snack, hot or cold! Very reasonably priced and you can even grab a can of red stripe if your so inclined.

Chez EllesCHEZ ELLES, 45 Brick Lane

This chic bistroquet serves traditional french cuisine, and even though Brick Lane is known for it’s curries this restaurant is known as the BEST on the street. It has a simple and cosy atmosphere and the food can do no wrong. Try the Moules Marinières et frites maison, they’re to die for, Bon Appétit!

EFES Express
