First Ice Supermarket

Romanian supermarket chain Profi have created the first ever functional Ice supermarket, the temporary structure was erected in the Romanian capital Bucharest and will remain open until warmer weather prohibits.

The 150 square metre space is made completely of 80 tons on transparent ice, in the exterior walls surrounding the structure there is wine bottles and packaged enclosed inside the ice for decoration. The shelves as well are fully made from ice, carved in a decorative manner, the shop also offers more than 500 local products to shoppers.

Quite a feat, but no one to be attempted in Britain, with our ever changing weather it wouldn’t last a day.
