“What better place than Milan—the centre of design—in April to present outdoor collections. And we are honoured to collaborate with the brilliant Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla for a second year on a pavilion design that beautifully tells the story that our furnishings enhance the landscape around the world in any climate.” JANUS et Cie CEO Greg Gainer

The illustrious Calvi Brambilla once again partnered with JANUS et Cie to create an extraordinary example of great design with lasting impact. “As always, we wanted to create a pavilion that could be perceived by visitors as its own architectural structure… this year, we designed a space for JANUS et Cie that is also open, welcoming, and bright,” stated Calvi Brambilla. The pavilion itself was a work of art, “inspired by lightness,” while organically integrating architectural details from natural landscapes.

Four new lounge and dining collections were prominently displayed throughout the pavilion, including Mattone, Ares, Rondo, and Kanji. Each graceful design is engineered to withstand the elements with the mindset of extending outdoor living into a year-round lifestyle. Fabrics and collections have been inspired by nature, featuring plush cushions, durable materials, and clean lines, ultimately contributing to Calvi Brambilla’s overall pavilion design.

In addition to JANUS et Cie’s newest launches, visitors also had the opportunity to discover the brand’s award-winning collections from distinguished designers, including André Fu, Piero Lissoni, Paola Navone, Philippe Starck, and Patricia Urquiola.

Mattone Collection: A Relaxation Destination

The Mattone collection is a 10-piece group of fully upholstered, modular lounge pieces. Mattone features deep, inviting cushions and generous proportions with endless configuration possibilities.

Designed to create a destination for gathering in exceptional comfort, Mattone is crafted with the attention to detail found in refined interiors, engineered to beautifully resist exterior elements and dry quickly. Mattone offers exceptional versatility and creates the opportunity for playful interaction between its pieces and environment. Removable and replaceable covers are available in two sophisticated, neutral hues—Senda Niebla, a warm, inviting, soft grey, and Senda Avena, a monochromatic, flaxen beige—to complement and coordinate with a wide variety of palettes.

Mattone’s clean, minimalist lines enable seamless transitions from modern and contemporary aesthetics to impactful contrast when juxtaposed with more classic and traditional design, and pair beautifully with JANUS et Cie aluminium and JANUS stone side and cocktail tables.

Ares Collection: Textural, Teak, Timeless

This Ares Collection is a comprehensive dining and lounge collection that takes subtle influences from mid-century modern silhouettes to a new level of understated elegance, composed of luxurious, refined materials.

The new Ares collection is highly textural, offering a harmonious confluence of intricately woven rope and deep cushions, finely sanded premium teak, and Carrara marble. Comprised of eleven pieces, Ares is available in two classically neutral, monochromatic colourways—Fossil, a cool grey hue, and Cocoa, a rich, warm brown—each complemented by substantial frames in a griege, Driftwood finish. The Ares dining tables are flawlessly crafted of premium, FSC-certified solid teak and are available with a choice of teak or Carrara marble inset tabletops while Ares side and cocktail tables are topped with Carrara marble. Chair and sofa seats are supported by sturdy polyvinyl mesh panels.

Gentle angles and innovative details take Ares from contemporary to transitional aesthetics and beyond, while endlessly durable engineering and exacting craftsmanship bring the sophistication of fine interior design outdoors where it will beautifully endure the rigors of exterior settings. The Ares collection pairs exceptionally well with JANUS et Cie’s Rock Garden and Gina collections.

Rondo, a Well-Rounded Approach to Seating

JANUS et Cie has taken inspiration from classic, barrel-back chairs and mid-century silhouettes to create Rondo, a luxurious new seating collection. The Rondo collection launches with five pieces: an armchair, barstool with arms, counter stool with arms, lounge chair, and ottoman.

Rondo’s curved backs cradle the body in comfortable support while tapered, conical legs maintain clean, spare lines for a sense of minimalism and lightness. Handwoven seats and backs in an open, geometric pattern invite shadow and light to play. The Rondo collection is composed of sturdy, powder coated aluminium frames with taut panels of olefin rope for exceptional durability.

Available in two finishes—Graphite/Shale and Talc/Fossil—Rondo features a combination of two ropes in complementary tones to create visual depth and textural interest and can be used with or without cushions. Rondo offers transitional, contemporary profiles and neutral colourways that enhance its versatility while complementing a wide variety of design aesthetics and palettes. Rondo coordinates beautifully with a myriad of JANUS et Cie collections, including Knot, Conic, and our powder coated aluminium dining tables. Rondo is well suited to high-traffic areas in hospitality, commercial, and residential settings.

Kanji: The Table with Shape-Shifting Superpowers

Kanji is a versatile, exquisitely sculpted cocktail table with an ovoid form and organic orientation characterized by subtle silhouette changes from every perspective. Substantial in profile with masterfully fine-sanded, seamless surfaces, Kanji’s gentle contours echo natural stone and its inherent shadows and highlights.

The Kanji Cocktail Table is available in three neutral, nature-inspired finishes—Honed Travertine, Matte White, and Urban Grey—that directly correspond with JANUS et Cie’s Trapez collection and JANUSstone™ planters, offering a greater opportunity to mix and match shape and texture within a monochromatic palette. JANUSstone, a composite of concrete reinforced with glass fibre, is an innovative material more enduring yet also lighter than traditional concrete. Designed to beautifully withstand the elements in all seasons with minimal maintenance, JANUSstone is water repellant, frost-proof, and rot- and pest-resistant.
